Virtual Reality Domains (VR)

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

After my outbound work is done this coming week I will be holding the remainder of my names til next year as well. Unless the offer is hard to turn down. GL :)

Good luck!
as I've seen in Zandibot's auctions like his most recent Travel.Agency sale. He included the CPC's from Google Keyword Planner for each keyword combo possible for his domain's keyword set. to show what people are willing to pay for the keywords of his domain. I wonder if as of yet people are paying good money to advertise for VR or 360 or "virtual reality" keyword domains?

maybe it's a good idea to add to any outbound marketing for VR domains? anyone's input here would be appreciated. just a thought I had.;)

I'm contacting startups (with similar names or similar product lines) first. So for example if I find a company doing high tech work relating to images for VR I will contact them with my domain relating to that. Keeping it short and sweet. I'll tweak the methods depending on success. And of course I'll report back with results if it works.

short and sweet is great too. I tell you though I like Zandibot's method of "sensory overload". to be honest I almost made a bid even though I'm definitely wasn't in the market for one. I like that! with the "sensory overload" approach as a potential buyer it's almost like you end up feeling "okay okay okay you got me here's my money! You sold me! just take my money please!" lol but you are right short and sweet is good too. too much "sales pitching" might turn off a person who wasn't even really looking for a domain and you're contacting them as a total stranger. might come off as annoying too. Good luck!

I wonder how many of us have reached out to the same potential buyers... lol.

Random Tip: Always follow up. Even if they didn't respond the first time, if you follow up, they will at least get back to you with a "Sorry, we're not interested". From there, if you put in some effort and utilize your marketing skills, you might be able to get something going.

I've managed to squeeze out a few $xxx offers by doing that. Just don't be too pushy, or sound too desperate (Remember: You've already sacrificed your pride, and contacted them twice!). Try to keep it professional, and like you said, "short and sweet". :)

I want to see more VR domain sales folks. We have some awesome domains and the industry is ripe and ready!

FRIENDLY REMINDER: IF WE'RE GOING TO SEE MORE VR DOMAIN SALES, MAKE SURE END USERS / BUYERS CAN FIND YOUR DOMAINS. A GOOD PLACE IS GODADDY / AFTERNIC. DON'T JUST PARK YOUR DOMAINS, MAKE THEM AVAILABLE TO BUY!

I think there would be a lot more VR domain sale if we all took the time to put our domains on Afternic.com, which will would show up on GoDaddy as premium for sale listings, since they are the same company.

Afternic listings show up as premium domains on Godaddy when users search for domains to buy. Take advantage of this. Let's get more sales happening!

how does one come off as not being "too pushy" or "sound too desperate". I think that is an artform on to itself. lol

Let's here some tips. "for everyone" of course! ;)

I have to admit I probably "over do" it by giving "sensory overload" instead of short and sweet. it does come off as "desperate". but I've always believed that in that "lucky moment" your email "actually" gets opened. one should "capitalize" on that moment as it almost never happens in the first place. how many of our "outbounds" ever even get opened?

so why not capitalize on that "moment" and give them your first and last sales pitch from the beginning? wouldn't that also eliminate the need to send more emails in thee event that they don't respond to your first email?

what do you all think?

I do not see the VR add dollar high or broad for VR KEYWORDS yet. It's only braised the surface.
That will most likely change after this x-mas. How strong (competition) for which of them, we will have to wait-n-see.

All of this goes to prove your price to a end-user in the "marketing value" of the name you are selling.

The 'keyword add data' shows you where competing interest is and at what level by the cost of the keyword(s). It's subjective to supply/demand. The theory is that when you can buy the keyword in the name, you save yourself from continuously spending marketing dollars buying it in google addwords. Or just get a boost in SEO. Making SEO more effective with your add dollar.

After we have some of that data next year, we will really be able to BEGIN to determine some of the better names and values.
But I caution everyone that it is a ever changing landscape as this evolves quickly and what is hot next spring may not be by the fall of the same year.
And many new keywords not thought of will be a star in the same time.
So try to keep your thinking in context with the situation on the ground with new products and services coming out every month. Sometimes it is a good idea to "get what you can get" for your keywords while they are 'HOT' and not wait for the situation to change. We all like to assume it will stay the same or get better.

I will say for most of you newb's, that you will not likely look at your vr names the same way next year.

I'm a VR domain SLOTH. lol. just sent over my entire VR list to Afternic. don't know why it took me this long.

Thing with Afternic is really for it to be effective you have to know how to price your domains and put BIN prices. That's where it gets complicated as we all want top dollar for our domains and don't want to leave "money on the table".

One question about it.

If i put my domains on godaddy market through godaddy and also on afternic , how would someone view it?

When you add a listing on Afternic it shows up in GD's domain search results as premium or make an offer domains for sale. Not sure if they show up specifically on GD's auction site though. @Joe Styler can answer that.

For me, short and to the point is the best method.

I really hate sales emails, and when the seller tries to explain things to me, they usually end up in the deleted items folder.

Just tell me what you have, give me a link, check your spelling, done.
