Virtual Reality Domains (VR)

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

Where do you see the auction? I'm looking at GD:s auctions but not seeing anything special? What am I missing?

You're not allowed to post active auctions in Showcase/Discussion threads, that's why they didn't post the name I guess.

The auction is over and it was VacationVR (.com) that went for $2600 or something like that.

Last year I picked up Virtology .com :)

I was thinking somewhat along the same lines, that "virt" might be a nice prefix for "virtual photography" domains...

Regged -

Virtograph
Virtographs
Virtographers

Bingo!!! (Or should I say, BingoVR!) ;)

Nice! Starting to notice that keyword +VR .coms are more desirable is that only because of the vacation rental angle? That being said would vrvacation.com be worth the same?

I don't believe in the "vacation rental" theory. There is already huge sites, Airbnb and others covering that market. No need for others.

Ok well NP what's your advice when someone runs across an available VR domain do you register both keyword+VR.com and VR + keyword.com or just one? If just one which one?

keyword+VR and VR+keyword has different meaning . say orange :

VRorange = an orange in virtual reality { a subject }

orangeVR = more like a name ... a business name that involves in virtual reality

something like that, i don't know how to explain it properly :P ... if you say it out loud it'll make sense

thanks. I do notice many of the VR companies. start with keyword then VR. it seems to be the "in" thing with these startups.

$2600 for that name is a good deal for the buyer if they get the name. It's worth a lot more in my eyes. I was very tempted, but I recently acquired a couple other names. I don't really trust godaddy anymore either. They have burned me so many times on auctions (when the original owner renews after auction).

Picked up:

ⓥⓡⓘⓩⓜⓞ.ⓒⓞⓜ (Hint: Gizmo)
ⓈⓣⓡⓔⓢⓢⒻⓡⓔⓔⓋⓇ.ⓒⓞⓜ
ⓈⓣⓡⓔⓢⓢⓇⓔⓛⓘⓔⓕⓋⓇ.ⓒⓞⓜ
(to go with my ⓋⓇⓈⓣⓡⓔⓢⓢⓇⓔⓛⓘⓔⓕ.ⓒⓞⓜ)
& ⓆⓤⓘⓔⓣⓋⓇ.ⓒⓞⓜ

Someone told me about this "technique" before. Is this something that Godaddy knows? Like the 900 lb gorilla that no one wants to talk about?? It's kinda risky to do though spending $80 in the "hopes" that the people who were bidding for an expired will still want to bid when the domain gets renewed at the last minute.

I wonder what the percentage would be of people who still bid after the owner renews last minute? and aren't pissed enough that they lose interest? lol

I can see a lot of VR domain testers .testing the waters on their VR domains and just want to see what the "max" will be for their vr domains. but is it worth it?

Thanks for explanation, some time ago I registered OrangeVR.com and personally, I prefer this than VROrange.com but it is only my feeling.
