Virtual Reality Domains (VR)

NameSilo
Watch
Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

All in com

CleeVR - Thought it would be a nice brandble VR company name?

RealTouchVR - Great for VR suit, gloves etc. Possibly the next step after controllers?

LetsTalkVR - VR blog/news site/podcast?

anyone into virto+kw domains? handregged this today

cGQVQVe.jpg

I've been monitoring virtu+kw vs virto+kw for 125 top suffixes, right now there are 17 domains available for virtu, 49 for virto. holo+kw are all taken for reference. To me virto has a much better ring to it than virtu (virtocoin vs virtucoin for example) but i'd love to know what you guys think about it

@novaseth, first off, welcome to the VR thread and NP! (I see you're a relatively new member of Namepros - You'll find tons of great info on VR here - To this end, I heartily suggest you read this thread from the beginning!;))

As to specific opinions regarding the relative merits of "Virtu" vs. "Virto," I can't really comment beyond noting that a quick perusal of namebio indicates no sales activity for domains beginning with "Virto" and almost no activity for domains beginning with "Virtu," except as incorporated into the word "Virtual." As an analog, I can point to VR domains beginning with "Vir" and "Virt" which some of us invested in years ago. My own experience with these names has shown that interest is super-soft to non-existent, so I've let most of them drop... [I can think of a few companies that branded with "Vir/Virt" in front (or in back), Virtroid/OmniVirt/Viro Media/Virel/etc., but they are strictly in the minority.] For a list of recently named VR companies, I'd check out Angel.co. -- I suspect you'll see a similar dearth of results with Virtu/Virto.

IMHO, a better strategy than to speculate on "Virtu/Virto" emerging as a new naming convention in VR, would be to spend your investment dollars on quality aftermarket and/or dropped VR domains which you know are in demand... (In any event, you'll want to keep your "Virtu/Virto" regs to a bare minimum with only top kw, as this approach is a low-percentage bet for sale. )

Above said, I wish you best of luck with your names and again, welcome to NP!

Holo is the accepted shortened term for hologram/holographic. It has a history going back to the invention of holographics itself in the 1950's and was used in popular culture as early as 1960's Star Trek (the HoloDeck). There's a reason why all the top Holo+keyword names were registered at least a decade ago.

Virtu is the Italian word for virtu. All the search results on Google seem to be based on that rather than a shortened version of 'virtual'. It's hardly likely to be used as a shortened term when it's only 2 letters shorter than 'virtual'.

VirtuCoin might have some meaning for Italians.

Otherwise, I would drop all those names.

VRcoins
VRBitcoin
VRBitcoins
CoinVR
TokenVR
CurrencyVR
BlockchainVR

Some very nice domains there mate!

Although it’s my most recent reg, I have to say VRCryptocurrencies is probably my strongest domain and dare I say possibly a category killer, bar VRCryptocurrency.

If things continue the way they are I reckon you’ll do very well out of those. Good luck!

Spatial .Audio

Google built a spatial audio kit for games and VR

Immersive audio is particularly important in an era where games are mainstream and virtual reality is quickly catching on, but there isn't a common framework for it. What works on your PC may be useless on your phone. Google wants to fix that: it's launching Resonance Audio, an open source developer toolkit that brings spatial audio to games, VR, AR and 360-degree video across many devices and platforms: Android, iOS, macOS, Linux and Windows are all covered. The technology borrows from Google's VR Audio kit to spatialize "hundreds" of 3D sound sources in real time, even on low-powered hardware like your smartphone. And depending on where it's running, it can even produce clever effects with a relatively low performance hit.

Depends what it is, if you’ve got something special like VR+TV or something pronounceable those will go for high amounts.

If you’ve just got some random letters next to VR not as much, maybe $400-$500 at best looking at what VR LLLL’s are selling for right now on NameBio.
