Virtual Reality Domains (VR)

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
I hope it improves soon. Literally the most over rated, boring, regrettable piece of sh*t of an "experience" I've ever had. And this is from a (blindly) devoted VR domain Investor who's spent thousands in the VR category. To put it lightly, I'm a bit disturbed....

Why disturbed? You sound like someone who has high expectations that a mobile VR headset would deliver you an unforgettable VR experience from a 2016 headset, one year after VR pretty much has been released to the public. VR has just come out, everyone should be happy with what we have. Return your Gear VR to the shops and wait for technology to catch up with your expectations.

As the owner of VR5, I can tell you that VR6 is a highly sought name to a specific end user market and it's value will dramatically increase over the next few years, however if you don't know the end user market I'm talking about, it will be difficult to understand it's perceived value.

You don’t know that, stop stating an ‘opinion’ as ‘fact’. If it was a fact that this is a $50k domain in 2-3 years it would have gone for more than $8,988 March 2017.

Paying $9k for a domain (if a domainer has bought it). Is not a “Very smart buy for the new owner.” It’s a ‘risk’ something anyone who’s invested in the aftermarket has took and a risk I hope pays off for the new owner of VR+6.

I think I announced a 30K offer for my VR5.

Offers mean nothing, offers could be fake, until offers turn into sales, only then people should take notice.

Do I really need to tell you, you probably already know... Everyone pretty much knows that China loves short domains and they now love VR from the people I've been speaking to. Scroll back a couple hundreds pages, I think I announced a 30K offer for my VR5.

Worth a lot more than that though... :xf.wink:
I would have a hard time turning down a 30k offer for that name, hope you flip it for a lot more :xf.smile:

Guta don't mess around with decent domains. I've asked them to broker a few others and they have refused. They only deal with top end premium domain estate that they can sell to primarily to China. I strongly believe that VR[0-9] will do very well in China. Of course, this is just my opinion and the opinion of probably the best domain brokerage geared to the Chinese market on the planet.

Dropped almost all my vr names, except LLLL.coms

Was pretty much waste of money. Probably lost around $1K on those.

Interesting - I'll be in Prague on that date.

Odd to hold it there though, as I thought that online gambling was highly regulated in the Czech Republic.

Thinking of it, Malta would make more sense (if it wasn't an island ofc). But nice to see a VR/AR gambling conference anyhow.. Too expensive for me, but I gave it a shot to win the tickets. :xf.smile:

Finally, today, Sony is restocking the shelves of Japan's high streets with their VR headset!

Hoping to get one, but I probably should have been lining up outside Yodobashi Camera at 2:00 am this morning instead of drinking beer : )

Success!!

Went to Bic camera in central Tokyo and they were offering people lottery tickets to have a chance to buy the cancelled orders and, to cut a long story short, I got lucky!
Just setting it up now with Biohazard. Will report back on my findings later : )

This used to be a place where we could share offer information. I for one, want to know if someone has received an XXXX offer for their VR domain. You said it yourself some good discussions can come of it. You shouldn't have to split off into some private conversation away from public eye in fear of offending certain individuals. We shouldn't be scared off from posting our offers. Yes our offers can be fake, but everyone should be reading everything on the internet with a pinch of salt, i.e. approach everything with a sceptical mind. But if you received 5 offers in the high XXXX range from 5 different people over 5 months that should at least give you the indication perhaps you shouldn't let your domain expire.

I believe premium VR domains will rise in value. This is my opinion. If anyone wants to think I'm giving out facts, just remember I'm not a frickin' fortune teller, I can't see the future. I have no special ability. I'm just a regular guy who is reading the market like the rest of you.

Yup. Personnaly I stopped posting offers a long while ago. Post sales not offers I say. All the many offers I get mean nothing if I don't close or if it's not in my business plan to. Closed and final sales speak more volumes then an offer that may or may not be legit or serious. Just my 2 cents

I'll just add. There are a few people on the forums that we share our offers with and have some good discussions instead of posting here.

I agree, its not worth posting them. I keep them private and share it with just a few people I have been chatting to for years.

@LucidDomains ...I totally agree with you that people should share as much info as possible, but as you have seen in the past, some opinions/posts just seem to cause agro with other domainers so its just not worth it anymore. I just post generic VR info and possible other VR sales I see. I was getting tired of posting info on this thread and a certain few just being negative all the time and thread becoming personal. Yes, I am one to react if someone insults me or one of my posts, so its easier to just avoid the confrontation. :xf.smile:

I will keep posting on here though

Volkswagen looks to virtual reality

I love simulators, whether it be for planes, trains, or automobiles.
I agree I can't wait to experience Flight Simulator in VR.

Btw VW has VR interior mode on their configurator on their .de site, which I found out a few days ago. Although I couldn't make it work on my gearvr so it definitely needs to be refined, but I appreciate their intention.

Who are the brokers for China market , if I can ask ? (robot6)

In no particular order.. and just off the top of my head.. Guta, Enaming, 62.com, 4.cn, Uniregistry, west.cn.

If you have something that could appeal to the Chinese market, I would recommend choosing a broker who has an agent who can speak Chinese or a broker who ideally focuses solely on the Chinese market. I'm no expert in choosing brokers, but the way I see it, China has 1.4 billion people. That's 20% of the world's population that live there. You need to find some who speaks their language fluently and who can do outbound in Chinese with no issue. If anyone has any other brokers to suggest, feel free to share.

Just my opinion.

I’m not just talking about the VR thread, but whilst on NamePros, I’ve noticed people do tell a lot of lies about receiving offers. Recent thread has discussed this:-

https://www.namepros.com/threads/i-was-offered-30k-twice-and-turned-it-down.1006731/

It’s fairly easy to say I’ve turned down xxxx offer or xx,xxx offer and then post your domain for ‘likes’ (guaranteed you’ll receive about 20 in the VR thread) or to put your domain in the spotlight.

One thing I’ve noticed whilst being involved in domain investing the past 18 months is the industry is 90% bull, everything from negotiations, owners regularly making out they’ve turned down or received large sums in the past as a negotiation tactic, to what you see on the forums.

Sales are the only thing that matter at the end of the day.
