domain "Village" + city name // dot coms - Opinions sought - VillageSydney // COM

I have several dot coms domains that are the word "village" followed by the name of a city that has a relatively important gay population.
i.e. villageparis d-o-t-c-o-m

I now realize that these are probably worthless but I'd just like a 2n opinion before I decide to delete/drop them

Depends what they are, whether they are large or small cities, whether they have an active village life or any other number of factors.

Certain cities will obviously have a higher value, depending on what you have...for instance, Vatican city is technically a city but I don't think it will go down so well as opposed to San Francisco.

Why don't you post them?

1-They aren't village, but cities.
2-Still has a little bit potential for buyers: has a sweet taste.

If you find the right buyer: you could do well with these ones.
Maybe(and saying maybe) up to(low-medium)$xxx, but expect less...

Thank you Buywiser for your thoughts. I know that these are not villages per se, they are cities with a gay community, which is sometimes referred to as "village"



Really I'm not super fond of geo domains and I am just asking myself if they're worth keeping for another year or two.

I don't think they are worth much. They might be better if you can reverse the and shorten the keywords - Example:BostonVillage or Village NYC. Sorry I don't have time to look.

One tip: If you are trying to sell to the gay community you should ensure the websites have some gay content.

Enduser:Regfee - $xx or possibly $200-$300
Developed as a network and sold together:low $xxxx - that's with a functional and popular gay themed travel network.

I don't think they are usually called GayVillage. But just Village.. For Example I have heard from my friends, in New York there is a big area which is called Village and it is a very very popular hang out for gays, lesbians, and even straight people and has hundreds of bars and dozens of club where it is very common for people to hook up for the night or so.. People just go to Village from all over, including New Jersey, CT and even Philly...

So the better names would have been

NewYorkVillage.com

or NYCVillage.com ( by the way owned but none other than Frank Schilling)

Or

ParisVillage.com etc etc but I guess they are all already taken...

So these domains can have some value to them if built into websites with a specific theme... It doesn't have to focus the gay community but rather general hang out places, bars, night clubs, lounges etc etc.. and Either this can bring in decent revenues once built or can be sold as a portfolio or individuals for a decent amount...

Ok thanks for the info but I had never heard of them being called gay village.. People in New York usually don't say lets go to gay village.. I think they use the term "I am going to Village" or "I am hanging out in the Village on Sat night" etc etc... then again I could be wrong...

The Village in NY is Greenwich Village. This was historically the gay area.. but now I believe it's mostly just rich people (though many of these could be gay)...

Bad idea to begin with. Selling as a network would mean more regfees for the potential end user. ALSO, the current owner will have to spend $100 soon to renew because he will not sell any of these soon enough. I'd move on to something else.
