I snagged this one today as it expired, would love to hear some thoughts on what it could be worth.

estibot says its appraisal is $60,000... wouldn't that be nice. lol

5,000,000 exact match monthly searches of "Video One" at over $8.00 cpc

I see the same search volume in Estibot, but it seems highly dubious.

Why would 5M people a month search for "video one"?
It is not like it is some massive generic term.

I don't work for estibot or represent 5M people my friend, can't answer that one.

Sometimes you just have to use common sense.
Massive keywords like car insurance get a fraction of that search volume.

The term is taken in about 30-40 total COM/NET/ORG, so it is not some massive generic keyword.

Rule #1 of domaining: Never use Estibot or any other automated evaluation tool to appraise your domains, its spits out random figures.

It might be possible to find an Estibot adept and sell it to them.

Estibot is the absolute worst at valuing a domain name. I'm afraid you won't be seeing anything close to that $60,000 (unless you got really lucky and a company called "Video One" based in the UK was desperate for the name and wanted a deal done quickly and had money to throw around! Otherwise from an end-user like that, you could possibly demand a figure up to $3,500 but that's the incredibly unlikely scenario. The more realistic scenario is a reseller who likes the look of the name (which I personally do - I think the .com would be quite valuable but the .co.uk kills it a little here). To a reseller (the most likely buyer), you're looking at maybe $150-200 if you're lucky.

P.s. the search volume for the exact phrase "video one" isn't that high but I'm surprised all of my search analytics tools are giving me figures of 240,000 - 400,000. That's more than "Nintendo switch" is getting, plus "video one"doesn#tlead to a specific page utilizing that keyword and there's no competition for that exact key phrase. I'm guessing it's being mixed in with a lot of other similar keywords like "best Video etc but it still doesn't really add up even then so who knows!

Realistically, the exact keyphrase "video on video one will be getting somewhere between 20-200 searches a month.

It's a good idea not to get excited by high valuations from estibot or search that are obviously incorrect because if a good, real offer came through, you may make a mistake by not selling it there and then because your valuation of the name is too high

I have the answer you've all been searching for on this one.

Why it's getting such high searches is because there is a massively popular pornography site by that name.

So all the searches are from people looking for porn.

The high search volume is what is messing up Estibot's valuation.

Personally I don't see the domain as holding any real value at all.

Good luck though :)

Appreciate your insight and for the record, I wasn't thinking it was actually anywhere near the appraised amount. I knew this would stir the pot which is why I posted. ;)

This is why Estibot is pointless.

I am a UK registrar and dropcatcher. As are many others.

I can assure you if this name had any value above reg fee you would not have been able to hand register it.

Thanks

On a totally different note... The British do like "One"

"BBC One" is a popular UK TV station

"Radio 1" is a popular UK radio station

Perhaps "Video One" could be a popular video streaming service?
