Wow, seeing things like that is what gives any domainer inspiration. The sale ofr 165k, for a simple domain.

Looks fake...

The seller has sold domain names before, but none near that quality.

The seller has also been buying "American Idol" for PS2, and a karaoke microphone... I guess that matches the style of the auction listing - as if someone legit was selling such a domain, they would/should probably spend more time explaining current ownership, etc. Too many details left out of this listing.

Ya smells very fishy.... and unfortunately fits into the recent fake domain auctions at e Bay.
Some of the 3 letter fakes were bad made..... but a 2 letter like this would deserve definetly a cleaner presentation.
I bet the WHOIS stays as is ;)

Yes, its all very suss. If you believe the listing, it actually sold for $165K, on a single bid, to a newly registered member.............. Typical ebay, "we provide the means", "we aren't an auctioneer", and all the rest....

Really suspect.

And I too suspect that the "buyer" was himself as he bid expecting for someone to bid after him. Silly...

Well, what he definitelly got was a hefty bill from eBay...

How can we prove that the name is fake? Is it possible for it to be listed on sedo and ebay? Yes. The sellers past history does not prove anything, nor does the new buyer. What im saying is, we should not jump to conclusions.

Whois location vs. Location of the seller.
Lack of quality names from the seller previous
Lack of ebays reputation for high end names.

etc.

however if it were real, the buyer really got a good deal.

It is a tad ironic the buyer is a new member

Not only a new buyer, but created his account the same day he placed his bid..
I wonder if the sellers knows how to retract the winning bid, else heโ€™s left with a hefty final value feeโ€ฆ. Tee Hee
