Very Strange... anyone had similar experiences?


1) Last night i found 2 names that were available using DomainSite.

2) Today i tried to reg them both at GoDaddy and both were said to be taken.

3) I tried them both at Fabulous and 1 was ok to register (a recently dropped one)

4) The other one was "taken" so i checked with whois.sc and the name showed to be avail to register for $7.95. Upon clicking it leads you to Spry.com, where i had to sign up, give credit card info and it now seems to be registered.

Yes, i tried to get a .com from uk2.net (I think that was the site). The .com being "danielchorley.com" but it told me it was taken. So i went to godaddy, and it was not taken. Sometimes registrars are dodgy.

It happens, Once I was searching for avai. domains on Reg. Fly. When it showed Content.biz as available.
I thought i had hit the jackpot and proceded to reg.
The next day I get an email Saying
"Sorry, We are unable to register content.biz"

RegisterFly overall is some kind of strange company running strange scripts. Recently I used their name suggesting tool and found that free.info is unregistered. WOW!!! - I thought. Of course, that was the false alarm...

I had this happen with GoDaddy. As I was buying a name, adding another product barely affected the price (on their domains for $1.99 with any non-domain product promotion).

I then got an email saying that the domain wasn't available to register after all.

They refunded the $1.99 for the domain, but I was stuck with the other product that I didn't particularly want, which they wouldn't refund.
