Verizon has Filed the 1st UDRP For a .Porn Domain Name: Verizon.Porn
The domain name was registered on June 4, 2015 and is owned by an Adam Rothman of Roslyn New York.

Despite paying $1,500 in filing fees to gain control of Verizon.Porn, Verizon hasn’t bothered to register the new gTLD .adult which was released at the same time. Verizon.adult remains unregistered as of publication.

I think that companies have become more careful after the Bloomberg.market incident and are now on a spree to get the new gTLDs that may affect their brand.

I think we should not be too quick to shift the blame on companies.
Sure, a company like Verizon has enough resources and should know better. They do.

On the other hand, do you realize the hundreds, the thousands of defensive registrations necessary to cover their brand names + variations across all TLDs ? It's very hard and costly too. Somebody who wants to squat on a TM will always find a way.

So I think that in the future more and more TM holders they will go straight for the jugular and sue to make an example out of somebody.

I think Icann will be sued too. They know it and set money aside to cover the 'legal risk'. My prediction is that somebody or something will want to make them accountable.
The business community has people unhappy with the current state affairs.

Also, the repeated squatting news cast new extensions in a negative light.
