In its latest report on the domain name industry (http://www.verisign.com/static/039111.pdf), VeriSign finds that 12% of all the .coms and .nets are without websites and adds that another 26% are single page sites, which they conclude are parked pages.
Taken together, that would suggest that almost 40% of all active domain registrations are held by individuals/organizations that are "investing" rather than developing.
Is that a fair conclusion to draw and, if so, what does it say about any speculative fever in our marketplace?
