People, the day will come when Namepros will be even more respected than it already is. ;)

Case Study:
Member sells, buys & trades in Namepros. Member earns cash in Namepros. Member opens their own site and starts a business buying, selling and trading what he/she did at Namepros.

But things don't work out. Why? Because of his/her lack of credibility.

Think of it...it's a win-win situation for Namepros and the member.

Things might be different if the person had a genuine "Namepros Verified" logo at the site's footer. :D
-----------------

What do you guys think...is it something to look forward to or am I delusional? =/

Nice idea - But how could we verify them?

We have TR and there is DNOA.

Not alot more we could do than verify address, doesn't mean someone is clean.

Hi dezinerite

A good idea, i suppose if there was, NP$ insurance available For - Buying and Selling ..etc. Between members :)

But most long term members here are honest, i would feel safe trading with members anyway. Hope to do some buying and selling sooooooon here.

That's exactly what I mean. :D We trust Namepros members...but when we're all out there selling stuff on our own sites, sometimes we're reluctant to buy/sell/trade because we don't know how reliable the site is.

DNOA is mainly ment for domaining, if I'm right?
There are a lot of other BST activities at Namepros though. Then, we can look at Trader Ratings.
Something like a "Verified by Namepros" idea is a cool idea, but brings a lot of disadvantages too:
1- A lot of costs could be related to this. Think about address verification ;)
2- It would consume quite some time, and I guess NamePros staff is occupied enough already :)
3- Verification has to be done after a certain period of time again, if you want to have a respected Verification Seal !

It's a good idea, but note that you can -at this moment- also link to your Namepros profile already at your site ;) Something like "Respected Namepros seller" or something related to that :P

Yup, that's what I'd have to do...

Thanks for your reply.

I'd be willing to pay $5 administration fee to have NP verify new members PP accounts or home addresses, kind of like at DNF.

The scamming is getting out of at all of the forums. If 'we' don't do something more to insure good will we risk loosing the open marketplace.

That being said I'm not sure how to decrease the risk significantly. The scammers have been hacking the forums and using well established members accounts. When something like this happens it totally discredits the TR and rep system.

I'd love to here suggestions from those that are more knowledgeable about net security.

We're planning a Staff meeting soon , and something similar to this may be discussed.
I'm not keen on any "Paid" solution though. Many of the recent scams we've faced on all forums has proven that won't necessarily stop anything. Between stolen PP Accounts, Stolen CC's , Junk CC's such as VCC's etc ... It won't prove anything to me just because someone has access to one of those payment methods.

I'm thinking more along the lines of People filling out a verifiable "Application" - And it remaining on record with the Admins in case there is a problem.

In the meanwhile , I urge sellers to stop worrying about the "Quick Sale" - Several recent cases were in fact people selling to members with "0" posts and/or TR here via PM. It's much safer to sell to People who have a reputation to uphold. Whether they are part of a "Known" Company/Corporate entity -or- They have a Good reputation among this and other forums and sites. If you are dealing with someone who has nothing to lose or is being very secretive about their true Identity , You are playing with fire.
"Legit" buyers and sellers should never have anything to hide.
