Hi everyone,

Who all have a vBulletin License?
I am thinking to get one but, I wonder if vBulletin is worth it?
( I did use phpBB and punbb )

I am also not so sure witch license to get.
The Owned License or the Leased License...

Is it also hard to put in mods?

If you don't want to spent a whole lot of money on this, then a custom skin probably isn't for you...even the cheapest custom skins go for $200. You could look into paid, shared skins, but they wont have the exact design you are looking for (24)....those skins run for $30 each, on average

Well $200,- I would still pay for a nice custom 24 skin.

ps. what do you mean with:?

I definitely think so...although the green might be better yellow or something. Anything that is dark with an either grungy or techy look to it will probably fit pretty well with some customization.

I was thinking the same thing!
( make the green --> yellow )

Do you think its hard to change that?

With a new header and perhaps a other background i think it could work...

Shouldn't be too hard at all - just a matter of changing the color of a couple images here and there and overwriting the green ones

V bulletin has many converters...like phpbb to vbulletin and so on...
i've bought a v bulletin site, but haven't utilized it's full potential cuz i didnt have popular enough sites...

from now on, i'm gonna use a free bb, and then when it becomes popular, then buy a vbulliten liscence...

vBulletin is by far the best option. I have no intention of knocking their rivals, but the two you mentioned fall short. I've spoken with the creator of punBB and have tried out that forum software. Its decent, but somewhat limited in terms of customizability and advanced functionality. With respect to phpBB, ver 2.0.x is so increadibly out of date that it takes several hours to make it even usable. Perhaps that will change if version 3 ever gets released. But until then, I'd advise against it. vBulletin on the other hand is a strong piece of software that has been
proven effective. Its got great support (since you pay for it with your licensing and update fees). And its great for customization.

As to your question between owned and leased, owned is a better idea. Leased means you can only use it for a year. Owned means you can use it forever. As such, its a lot easier to recoup your money on an owned license if you decide you'd like to sell it. Do note however that if you want access to updates and whatnot after the first year with an owned license, you'll need to pay an additional annual fee.

With respect to mod installation, most mods are very easy and fairly quick to install. Obviously, some more complex hacks like vBDrupal take alot longer to install and configure, but generally speaking, modding couldn't get much easier.

Well it is looking okey on the moment:

http://www.twentyfourforum.com/

But, I have to change the header (and buttons)
Could some help me with it?
(of course: for np$'s ; ) )

Do you just want to change the text on the .psd file so the header and buttons say different things? I can do that for you.

Well what I need is:

On the moment I have this header:
http://www.twentyfourforum.com/buildingstage/headeredit1.JPG

( forum = http://www.twentyfourforum.com/ )

As you can see it also effects the buttons a bit.
You can see that clearly at the HOME and a bit at the Register button.

Well, if some designers could make some examples how they could
make the header. Ill pay the best header (np$'s)
(and i need some help getting it in the site as it also affects the buttons)

I need some examples as even I have not yet gotten a clear idea how we
can give the forum more a "24" feeling.
