I have a few domains with upcoming Hollywood movies names in them. They are of the format xyzMovie.com and xyzTheMovie.com (xyz signifies the name of the movie)

I am not really looking at parking revenue from these as much as selling these names to the movie makers themselves.

These are some Big Hollywood Movie names.

Has anyone ever sold such names? If yes, then how much do these sort of names generally sell for?

The appraisal section is specifically for posted domain names. This would be better suited in Domain Discussion Section.

They'll just try and take them from you by force most likely. You might be able to get a couple grand out of them if they would rather go that route than the legal one but you'd be surprised sometimes.

What about the case where OP purchased the names prior to "first use in commerce", or better yet, prior to any hint that the movie was going to be made, and a generic term??? (obvious exceptions)

it would be a hard case to make though. comparing terminator vs. terminatorthemovie.com, i would say that the latter has a higher chance of infringement.

nonetheless it all depends on how the domain is used / if the owner is benefiting on the trademark. so you can violate a trademark even if you register it before there's a movie.
