euro.pe will get either high $xx or low $xxx only since there's already an eu extension.

most of those words are useless since in Peru they speak Spanish, don`t waste your money , it`s like regging chinese domains in the Usa

euro.pe is a very nice domain hack.
A novelty domain; price depends much on the interest of potential buyer.

likepeas, is there an English version of nic.pe ?

I tried to register domain.pe but it was already taken :(

I was already aware of domain.pe but did not reg it, since their version would be:

DOMINIO.pe

no there is only the spanish version.

Ah, thanks for clarifying, Lorenzo.

Hmm... Do you think there would be value on gov.pe ?
It is kinda cool to be the government :]

So you think downloads, mobile and loans are just the registration fee then?

If you target the Peruvians Spanish is a must IMHO. English words like that should have little appeal to them (even if they understand English). And if you don't target Peru what's the point of regging .pe ?
JMO of course but I do believe in using the right language match for ccTLDs...

yes, obviously you can always find some crazy buyer but it`s like lottery tickets.

I`m not sure if it`s allowed, did you check the .pdf files of the new policies?

exactly....I suppose that many people over there are too poor to have good education and speak English, I wrote to the registry a short e-mail in English 2 weeks ago and they did not reply me so I simply regged my

N.pe and that was all. One is enought.

I don't understand Spanish so I just tried to order gov.pe -- then the website said something like "restricted". So we cannot reg gov.pe.

I noticed there are some nice names still available, like:
jobs.pe
forum.pe
news.pe
email.pe
doctor.pe

Even if the people are poor, at least they should understand what those words mean, right? Would such names have value?

P.S. N.pe can be read "nope"... very nice! It is worth at least x,xxx I suppose?

yes they could but....they would rather visit the spanish versions....like noticias.pe (news.pe) and so the rest. I did not reg them. I repeat: would you use French or italian in the Usa?

and no:

email and jobs are restricted, you can`t reg them, many people, including me have already tried everything, it opened a month ago.... trust me, what was valuable is gone by now, if you really insist:

check the word on www.Google.com.pe to see how popular it is in Peru

And yes N.pe should worth 4 figures :)

Yeah, you are right... If there are local equivalents of the words, it is better to go local (Spanish). Unless the word is the same... e.g. email = email (Spanish) --> is that right? I consulted an online dictionary :]

EDIT: how about carga.pe ?

Obviously, spanish words for those premiums are taken.....

Doctor is the same in spanish and english, but maybe in Peru they use another word. For "coches" (cars in spanish) they use "autos" much more and
also "carros".

I'm from Spain.

Well I couldn't resist so I am trying to register some PE's but have no idea what to give as answers to some of the registration questions as my spanish is no muy buena.

So if someone can help me I'd appreciate if they could pm me so I can tell them which fields I am having a problem with.

Also, sorry about hijacking the thread

edit: I got the help I needed..

I am actually originally from Peru. In Lima English words are used alot especially among the younger generation but another thing to consider in Peru has a very extensive slang. Every time I go home I pick up new words. Also you might want to use a Quechua dictionary in coming up with words to reg.

Peru actually has had a lot of growth and although there is a large population of poor people internet use is very high there. There are internet cafes like there are starbucks here in the states. You know how a lot of call centers for the USA have been moved to India. Well in Peru because of the neutral accent the call centers for Spanish speaking service for the USA are located there.

Anyways I am inspired now and making my list of domains to reg. long live .pe!
