Hello,
I found domain in .co.uk . The keyword is two words . I see there are 8-10 advertisers in search result with quotes in google.co.uk. I see keyword competitor in google keyword tool < 700 exact global seacrh and medium comp. Any value ?

It depends if the name actually makes sense, can't judge just based on those criteria. Ask yourself why it's left unregistered, taking into account that .co.uk has 10M registrations and is the largest ccTLD after .de.

Impossible to provide a meaningful opinion without knowing the exact name.

I'd be wary investing in .co.uk in the long term.

Scotland could be voting for independence in 2014 which will be the end of the UK if it is passed

They can still reactivate .gb :]

Indeed.

Interesting times in the .co.uk domain space. I can see it being phased out in the next 10-15 years, but it all depends on the 2014 vote :)

If I were you then I would have been already registered that domain. .co.uk comes with 2 years initial time which enough to make a good sale. :)

They are only ยฃ2.99 to register for 2 years at 1and1.

To flip co.uk quickly you could use domainlore a u.k domain auction site

I wouldnt register anything with 1&1, the worst registar I've ever had the misfortune in dealing with....

For .co.uk I'd use 123-reg possibly

Yes 1 and 1 are bad, agreed. Another thing that bugs me with 1 and 1 is you cant even update multiple domains dns server details in bulk. You need to do them one at a time. Doing this with 100 domains is a nightmare.

People.. Please Avoid 1 and 1...

I personally think they are good investments Even if Scotland breaks away I don't see .co.uk being abolished. Too many businesses and sites resolve @ .co.uk very unlikely to see a cctld change . My opinion only Though.

I'd suggest this is more than likely to be correct. Let's not forget that England, Wales & Northern Island will probably remain as the UK - and they are better off financially without Scotland anyway. So - I certainly don't see the UK as we know it collapsing.

The question is, can the UK still be called UK without Scotland ?
Plan B would be a return to .gb but not likely as it's almost never been used.
In fact there is a historical precedent: Serbia & Montenegro inherited .yu. When they split in 2006, they got their own ccTLDs and .yu was retired.

They're likely to retain the UK title :imho: They would have to go to referendum and I don't think any change would be passed.

Serbia & Montenegro do not equal the UK ;)

Would Scotland having its own kill .co.uk no? Could Britain still call its domains co.uk yesโ€ฆ They can call them what they want appart from there independent well supposedly of government and cctld has little to do with real geographic more perceived and accepted hence .co..im .me .whatever etc

Would someone in the uk still priorities the co.uk as the site to look yes and would someone from out of the uk still also yes Did .us kill the com market in America no even if the uk were to bring out another cctld it already has several they donโ€™t effect the value of the co.uk one bit
