.mobi Using .mobis as redirects

I'm looking for opinions on how valuable you think .mobis will be for redirection purposes -- .mobi to .mobi redirection, not .mobi to m.domain.com, etc.

For those wondering what I'm talking about, I encourage you to check out http://www.cinnamon.mobi -- a name I recently acquired. I've chosen to redirect it to the cinnamon section (still under construction) of my main site. I think these types of redirects are better on .mobis than on .coms because of the current difficulty typing in long names and the high bandwidth costs associated with going through multiple links. I'm thinking about branding redirecting names as a quick way to gain access to the material on my main site.

In your opinion, do you think it would be worth redirecting ~200 names related to the main site in such a fashion?

is this the same as domain forwarding?

Yes, that's exactly what I meant.

I have 30 mobis with top OVT keywords within the domains which I will be forwarding to my main mobi directory site as you are considering. Makes alot of sense to me but as I am not a webmaster per say in designing sites the concept seems sound anyhow. The objective is to divert traffic to the main site and redirection as you suggest seems logical.

What do you mean by branding redirecting names ? Can you clarify

I was thinking of taking it 1 step further than allowing redirects, and letting users know that they could access the site by typing in example, a particular LLL.mobi, NNN.mobi, etc -- making it easier for people with cell phones which are difficult to type on.

Are you going to redirect all 200 names to the main page or to their own special sections, and if so can you create 200 separate sections at your main site for each redirection to point to, wouldn’t that get a little too big for a mobi site. I am not that great with building websites, but those are the questions that come to my mind.

I was thinking about 200 separate sections -- and yes, as you said, it would get very large and make the .mobi experience unpleasant. But if the user knew they could type in, in example, "any antioxidant".mobi and get the information they wanted, it wouldn't be such a hassle.

Looking at it from an SEO perspective, I would prefer mini sites that all interlink. So for example, antioxidants.mobi/cinnamon would have some brief info and a link to cinnamon.mobi that has lots more info and that site will link back to antioxidants.mobi. All will be indexed accordingly and build a network of relevant links.

Thanks for the advice Scandi. I was considering doing that as well, however, I was worried if Google may see it as an attempt to get a good ranking and may penalize me accordingly. I don't know squat about SEO, however in some of the readings I came across, people suggested limiting the amount of mini-sites that all link to a main site.

Some of it feels like black magic I know but often people are purposely trying to spam the SE's and then whine when they get caught. Important thing to remember is all sites must have unique content, not just the same stuff cloned from site to site to site. "Antioxidants are great" x 200 won't get you anywhere.
