Only problem I see is that when I looked a buying a used RV, it was almost impossible to get people to email pictures. Almost like talking a foreign language when talking to people about email and especially emailing pictures... "Digital Camera?-Oh, I don't have one of those fancy things." "Email a picture?-Oh, i barely know how to check my email."
Got to keep in mind, there are still ALOT of people that don't know much about how any of this works, especially the boomer+ group that has the money. ANYTHING that simplfies and makes it easier, this group will pay for. So, when looking at these as a business model, make sure you know the target market and their level of knowledge coupled with expenditure potential.
This type of model could be pretty easy to capitalize and monetize; MOST people have a video camera and know how to use it. Almost Nobody knows how to convert to a uploadable file and upload to a site. Getting them to create a video of their Boat or RV (usedrvs.tv james) and send the tape in for the company to handle the tech end is a model they could grasp. Marketing by the visuals they can grasp, and they have the money to pay for the service. This is not a clone youtube approach, but an actual business model. By doing a clone youtube approach IMO would not work. At some point down the road, a user generated AND uploaded model could work in this genre, but will need the asistance of better software and more ingrained internet knowldge by the users.
