there were a few thread about how to use gmail to receive and send
email as if they were coming from your own domain. I tried it, however
I got "[email protected] on behalf of [email protected]", email
message. I don't like this " on behalf of", am I doing something wrong
in the pop account setup?

You're getting the 'on behalf of' cos that's how it works, nobody likes it but there're nothing much we can do. The recipient will only see that if he or she is using a mail client though.

And it's got nothing to do with POP. At least not for me.

You can definitely try kkworld's suggestion. :)

It's working for me. I don't recieve any "behalf" type messages. I signed up with google apps and modified the mx record for my domain (also modified c record - optional).

You'll only get the "behalf" message if it's done through 'Add Accounts'.
