Interesting, albeit short, article about the decreasing cost of producing live broadcasts via internet only as compared to 'regular' stations......Okay, 10 of us come up with 50K, and we 'share' the truck, lol...

Great Find Rogue.

I believe live streaming TV will be the norm in 10 years. Thus, the .tv extension fits perfectly with the streaming broadband Tv explosion. It's in its infancy now. It WILL become normal and its slowly already happening.

I agree Josh--dot tv will challenge dot com in videos in the future--hold on to your good names.

There will be a whole industry of semi professional film makers and sitcom producers and if you can get hot maybe a network deal.

Times are definetley changing, broadband has changed the world.
These are exciting times for any creative types out there, there is nothing stopping individuals going out and making TV Shows, Videos, Movies and finding a large audience through the internet and all without the backing of major studios or lots of $$$.

I wish i was a young, creative type! :'(
I guess i will just need to be the guy behind the creative types who tries to exploit them and make money out of their work :hehe:

EQ i am 25 (26 on Dec 6 if you wanna buy me a Big birthday gift! )
I dont really feel young though as i have had lots of health problems through the years which kinda forces you to get mature quick and it also means i dont have the energy of most my age due to pain issues & painkillers slowing me down.

I don't think it's 50k anymore, its just $500 usd and it's not TV, its video on demand and video sharing. Unless you're making news programs there's no need to stream video live imo. However I think a live TV stream/s segment would be a nice luxury touch to have within a video on demand site. I want to know how some of these VOD guys are attracting so many visitors to their sites whilst using reg fee dot coms. Reading the USA article, live feeds seem very costly compared to user generated content. Plus surely isn't there always going to be less live choice than the choice of the existing recorded videos?

Yes, huge difference in cost for video on demand as compared to live coverage. Just interesting how it may provide opportunities for the less popular sports or activities to be broadcast as the event occurs. For example, as part of a broadcasting major at local Universities, I can see the University broadcasting all of their sports live, like volleyball, swimming, track and field, whatever, with students actually paying credit hours to participate, and further subsidized by local merchants....
