It appears the domain industry has been starting to take notice of the .us namespace over the past year, read DnJournal.com .us growth and Namepros with even greater expectations for the year to come.

So I thought it would be a good idea to ask everyone to show us your .us domain names. You can post your favorites or your entire portfolio.

I'm very surprised that you would say this. I believe a .us domain just sold for over 400k. There have been many sales of .us. Plenty of possibility for .us.
Was upset on me not .US ๐Ÿค—
We must know if is a legit sale & the domain

Itโ€™s not gop because Whois hasnโ€™t updated recently.
If they haven't disclosed the name already maybe it's best to respect their privacy and wait for them to go public when their website is ready.

Sure but that has nothing to do with what weโ€™re talking about. Itโ€™s not gop.

I saw someone speculate the name is "Kucoin". All the dates line up with the Twitter post.

Updated Date: 2021-10-02T17:22:33Z
Creation Date: 2017-10-28T01:37:12Z

If that is really the case, the sale is not repeatable and really based more on a famous brand than any generic value.

This is kind of like a situation where a good outcome might not have been achieved by good decisions, but instead a fluke set of circumstances.

This is the classic situation where questionable decisions can still lead to a great outcome. It still doesnโ€™t mean those decisions were great as they are not repeatable and would fail 99.999% of the time. In this situation it worked.

Congrats to the seller, but I don't really take much from outlier sales like this. I am more interested in sales that are more predictable and repeatable.

If thatโ€™s the case, it shows that they felt .us was a must have. They already own kucoin.com and Iโ€™ve been a customer long before most knew of crypto.

Looks like a case of squatting if it is Kucoin. Kucoin was founded in 2017 but a bit earlier than the creation date. I think the exchange could have easily won an UDRP since it is pretty much a made up word and only means one thing and one thing alone

When is started domaining in 2020, there was a famous exchange in a very popular ccTLD that dropped and I immediately registered it.

But soon decided that it was not that path I wanted to take and grace deleted it.
Somebody else grabbed it after I deleted and is asking 6 figures lol.
Different risk appetite I guess

Define "mediocre".

I have many priced in a $1,500 - $5,000 range.

Brad

I meant to ask the median price of portfolio style names.
In dotcom speak the kinds that sell for 2-5K

Hope everything worked out for them,

Now I am pricing my domains like it's already the year 2025 :)

Mortgage.US
Church.US
Airline.US
Depression.US

You can type in the domains to see my asking prices.

PS: If anyone is interested in Depression.US I might be able to come up with a little bit better price for .US fans here.

Sales have slowed down a ton.
There are three possibilities to consider about this:

1- Perhaps the demand for domain names by end users has gone down,

2- Perhaps the demand is still there, but that people are looking to pay a lot less for domains than we are expecting them to considering that they have so many other extensions nowadays to choose from.

3- If you sell most of your domains through the registrars' network streams then where your domains show up when end users search for domains at those registrars can make a huge difference in how many domains you are going to end up selling. There are limited spots in the search results at the registrars and so if you are lucky enough for your domains to show up on the top 5 results then that can help bring you an unusual number of sales without any extra efforts on your part (that is a lot higher than most other sellers). But then if your domains lose their rankings in the registrars' search results then all of a sudden you might see a decrease in the number of your sales. Sometimes the registrars (or registries) pick a lucky domainer or two and give their domains high rankings in their search results for promotional purposes and so those lucky domainers might get a windfall of sales for that period of time. (I wish they pick me someday soon :)).

Where are the NP rules for determining what domains are allowed in the ccTLD section? I've received offers for Antifa.us before and turned them down because I wasn't sure of their intended use for the domain. I would like to list and sell the domain now. It could become a good documentary site.

Crypto.us sold $16,275 - not my sale.

I had a chance to buy it at $15k but it would be impossible to ever compete with the .com!
