One way to make .US more popular is to give every person in the US an ID in the form of .US domain names.

Like:

Your Name + Last four digits of your Social Security number in .US

Here's an article that indicate's that GD has .us listed in their Top 5 Domain Extensions. I didn't know that.

If you are not US citizen doesn't mean you can't register a .us
Any can register a .us domain but must follow the rules
What are the rules ? Very simple
As non citizen must prove ( in case of a complaince Nexus ) that you have a connection with a US entity ( person or company ) with a simple bill ( sale of a domain for example )

For a Nexus verification ( for them ) is enough that type of bill
Of course if some one have a business , a partnership with a US entity ( like me ) much better

Total sale number: 153
Dollar volume : 166000 USD

In 2021 until 25 June
Total sale: 122
Dollar volume: 153000 USD

And we are only after 6 month
This are official sales but personal i know at least 6-7 sales that are not indexed on Namebio including my sales of NeverGiveUp & GoodIdea = 4000 $
So my guess is official & unofficial total sale are around or close to 200k
