It appears the domain industry has been starting to take notice of the .us namespace over the past year, read DnJournal.com .us growth and Namepros with even greater expectations for the year to come.

So I thought it would be a good idea to ask everyone to show us your .us domain names. You can post your favorites or your entire portfolio.

Was able to sneak a hand reg of Peel.us in on today's drop. I'm not big on hacks but I like it regardless. It's been a pretty quite "landrush anniversary" for me, but I like the few names I've gotten. Anyone get any steals?

Nice catch. I tried to backorder it at godaddy but godaddy couldn't accept it for some reason(bug). Godaddy sucks. Get your domains away from there after 60 days.

Boris.us

Just picked up boris.us for $80 at Godaddy auctions. I had a backorder on it, but supposedly some other bidder bid as high as $75, with a proxy bid.

I believe the possibility exists that a Godaddy employee, or even perhaps a Godaddy VP, bid against me to get the purchase price up from a paltry $10. After all, Adam Dicker, while VP of TDNAM auctions at Godaddy, stealthily bid against clueless customers for domains such as SPYWARE.US. Dicker was dicking clueless customers like you and I, while Godaddy was reaping benefits. If you bought a membership at DNF, keep in mind that you've given Dicker, a real scumbag, some of your hard-earned money.

A scumbag, IMHO, is someone who is VP of a company's auction scheme, then himself bids against clueless customers, stealthily, driving up prices.

Bottom-feeder also comes to mind.

Yes, a GoDaddy Vice President was bidding up to $75 because without that bid, GoDaddy would go under. I think a possibility exists, that there are some dudes named Boris out there as well.

If it hadn't been made public record 2 or 3 years ago, I wouldn't have believed it myself. But yes, a Godaddy VP bid in small increments against clueless customers. Yes, he started bidding on the low-end and kept pumping prices until he thought he had max'd-out the upper end. Yes, JB Lions, he started lower than $75. He was able to pump some up to several thousand dollars, as with SPYWARE.US. But for some others he settled for less. After all, you can't keep outbidding yourself if no one else is bidding.

Anyway, you seem unwilling to believe documented history. Keep your head in the sand if you like.

And yet you still bid for Boris, even though you suspect shill bidding, thus showing your willingness to do business with them despite your suspicions?

Wow.

You really must have wanted that name.

On the other hand, I suppose that we, in this industry, consistently conduct business with the devil, at least to a certain extent.

I do think shill bidding is still possible, though. GD needs more transparency by getting rid of Bidder 1, Bidder 2, etc., and adopting user names.

No, I'm still not paranoid. This, along with SnapNames, today, you've offered up...... 0. If you had something, today, I would support you. Right now it just comes off as paranoia on your part. It's so bad, you actually think GoDaddy VP's are bidding in under $100 .us auctions. Basically any auction you're in, if there happen to be bidders or there is a good sale somewhere, it must be something evil going on. And here you are bidding at GoDaddy Auctions, where yet again, you think shill bidding is going on, so you're selling your own posts out and contradicting yourself.

Plus just saw this other post:

I made a bid on Boris.us. It was for $43.
I own the .info.

LOL, you registered it yesterday and already got a mid $x,xxx offer, now he's already backing out. That's just not fair!

Was this person asking you to get an appraisal first?

No. Not at all. He said he needed it for his company. He offered. I accepted. Then things went haywire when I wanted to use escrow. I even offered to throw in .biz for free. I'm still not sure what happened. I brought up escrow & he flipped out.
