It appears the domain industry has been starting to take notice of the .us namespace over the past year, read DnJournal.com .us growth and Namepros with even greater expectations for the year to come.

So I thought it would be a good idea to ask everyone to show us your .us domain names. You can post your favorites or your entire portfolio.

Cloud.us is no longer showing up in my watch list and appears to have been renewed so I'm going to guess that the owner was fishing for a market price or the "wolves" got to the owner to get 'em to renew. Either way, I figured there was little chance of that transaction going through.

I was surprised by the voracity of the auctions and was disappointed that there was so much competition for some really nice keyword domains (I forced 2 or 3 to the top of my bidding range so I can say I was at least partially responsible for some of the prices, but there were people there with deeper pockets than me so I only won one.) But as I've been very active in .US in years past, it was nice seeing even just a mild feeding frenzy on .US this year.

I noticed that cloud was missing from my watch list, too. Of course, maybe godaddy deleted it so their sale wouldn't be jeopardized as much by someone calling the domain's owner.

I had that happen to me with reo a few years back. And to think I was ready to pay 2 bills for it. Not anymore. I can't even sell my $20 ones that I have in the marketplace.

I ended up getting 4 domains from yesterdays frenzy. I lost out on the one I really wanted. Doggone thing crossed over into the $x,xxx range. It was $999 over my budget.

At least a few LLL ones went for $400+/-. I wonder why.

The .us domain TLD sounds like a good idea, but as long as google restrains them, they will continue to be trumped by the .com.

I'm surprised that some out of work firm hasn't tried to go after google and their deep pockets by arguing restraint of trade, or unfair business practice, or something along those lines. Maybe the feds should step in and argue that they are hurting U.S. exports.

I don't think that it is just that people prefer the .com anymore, but rather google is suppressing the .us the way the old Ma Bell telephone company once suppressed competition through its monopoly.

Do a Whois Search for Cloud.us through Godaddy's Whois:

Yes, I would say that the owner renewed and sold it to one of our own NP'ers.

DomainAcrobat posted the list earlier - many were renewed after the fact but it's the best posted so far.

I have a 3 letter .us domain name and seems to be the exact name of an old corporation based in USA. Their actual site is LLLcorp.com. Would they be interested in my .us domain?

Nice sale. I grabbed Kissing.us last year when it dropped as I think it's a really cute keyword for .US. Grats!

Interesting search numbers out of google's adwords tool. If they are accurate, and I've not done any research on this, you have a decent name but if you were to develop it you would likely want to target overseas folks looking for US stock prices... as it's not a highly searched term in the US, but the global numbers are terrific (particularly UK). That's a bit tricky to do though. Resale in domainer market is going to be very low for a number of reasons. If you find an overseas end user it could be a mid to possibly upper $xxx sale. Shareprices.net had a sale price of $1k and the .com only sold for $16k in 2009 so I think that any 3 figure offer you get you should seriously consider.

Hope that helps.

Bore.us (hand reg)

I see this as a cool URL for a boring company, one that bores holes for construction purposes.

I can see this plastered on a panel truck.

Need a hole?

Visit

www.Bore.us

I added the www because most small businesses seem to do this.
