It appears the domain industry has been starting to take notice of the .us namespace over the past year, read DnJournal.com .us growth and Namepros with even greater expectations for the year to come.

So I thought it would be a good idea to ask everyone to show us your .us domain names. You can post your favorites or your entire portfolio.

Sorry to sound negative Stevie but I see very little value in these visit+geo .us domains. Have you had any luck with end user or reseller sales on these types of .us geos?

Hi,

No worries,

I have not sold any of these names yet, (have sold geo .us names) but no VisitCity names (only had them for a couple days now)

VisitMyrtleBeach.us sold for $1700 a while back.

i think there is 1 at sedo with a bid of $600 or more (depending if the seller upped his min bid or not)

These i belive have more porpulation (city wise)

Not to worries at this time. :)

Just regged:

VisitAtlanticCity.us :gn:

Geo domains are perfect match for .US , although it’s probably best to stick with bigger cities and the more popular tourist attractions for now until .US becomes more mainstream. IMO

Stevie, you got some nice ones there, :imho:

I believe that Visit + City is great with .US because not only that it is a popular term related to tourism and travel, but it also can be used for virtual tours of the city now that video is becoming so popular on the web. IMO

I think they are a nice set also,

Easy to use, easy to remember, and most cities/countries are already developed, in other extensions,

i think the person who owns most visitstate.us names is sitting on a gold mine,

I hope i can set them all up in this week, plan on doing most the work myself, but with some instructions from a good friend (on the technical side) :)

slightly modifying the template, but though it would be good if they all had a similar look, so oldtimer, if you decide to develop any time soon, you can use my template for free if you wish.

Thanks Stevie I am still trying to decide which one of my domains to develop, but the geo .US are amongst my most favorite. :)

Just got this and I believe it’s a great name. :imho:

CivilRightsMovement.us

[Civil Rights Movement] had about 110k exact searches in Feb and 75k average

[Civil Rights] had about 90.5k exact searches in Feb and 60.5k average

I was surprised to see that “Civil Rights Movement” had more searches than “Civil Rights” by itself.

Just picked up StimulusPayment (dot) us. My first .us and I thought the extention fit this one great. Nice search volume for this one. Gonna try and grab some of that traffic while the irons hot.

I saw that and almost regged it.

I went with:

EconomicStimulusBill.us (WT=1497)
EconomicStimulusPlan.us (WT=1108)
ObamaStimulusPackage.us (WT=597)

All with good WT numbers on the "terms".
Just hand regged so no traffic footprint yet.
Parked for a few days until I can put something together.

I'm not as convinced as some with this extension. The above is all I have for .us and you would think that I wouldv'e had at least one offer by now for it.

Your expectations or understanding of the domaining industry may be a bit off. With the millions of domain names out there for sale (and millions of hand reg possibilities) just because you haven't gotten an offer for one particular name or a small group of names does not mean that they are bad names or it is a bad extension.

I think the stat I've seen is that only 1-3% of an average domainer's portfolio turns over per year. Of course that does not include those with aggressive pricing or very active direct name marketing. Individual names can take years to sell. For example I just accepted an offer for beefalo (us) at Sedo after holding it for several years. Now there's a niche name that will be put to good use by the new owner who was looking for a good appropriate generic name for that product.
