.us .US or .ORG

There is a domain I'm thinking of registering, and both the .us and .org extensions are available.

It seems the .us is gaining momentum, but I'm not really clear on popularity and worth.

Which do you think is a better extension and why?

Well if it fits the .organisation extention its good.

Otherwise .us is the future.

If it is to be a non-profit or an actual org - Get .org

Otherwise I'd go for the .US - especially if you are going for US traffic .......

Yep, I would have to agree with them above. If your thinking about making a website for an organization or something like a non-profit organization then .org would be your best bet, but if your doing something outside of that then .us would be perfect.

its not like it will really hurt you, and while .us is the future, at the moment .org is a bit more popular seeing as it has been around a good bit longer. the extra 5-10$ would probably be worth it.

Believe me, that did cross my mind. But this particular domain I just plan to make a little site on for fun. It's not business or something I'm looking to resell.

yeah if it fits the "org" kind of domain definetely go for the .org, otherwise get .us as it is gaining power.

Yah, I find myself typing in more and more .us domains on a daily basis then .org domains.
