.de .DE or .US?

From the auctions at sedo, it is clear that .de is very popular. The .us on the other hand is becoming useless because of the popularity of the .com extension which is mainly prefered by english speakers. Does anyone think so?

.de is the German cctld, which is not only a very popular and successful cctld, but SEDO is a German company, and I'm sure that helps .de buyers comfort level.

No, .us is fine. .com is overhyped and people are becoming more aware of .us
