Right, I want a specific name, but it is gone in every extension, except tv, which wants a grand because it is premium.

Now since this will be a personal site for the most part, I don't want to pony up the grand. But if down the road I do decide to sell, will the double tv hurt me badly?

I think it would.

I dont think it is a good idea to get a ******TV.TV or even a companycom.com for that matter.

But thats just what I think, I certainly dont know.

Besides, if its going to be a personal site, why would you care, and why would you ever sell it anyway?

A good question......

To me, nearly everything has a price tag. For what I plan to do with it, it may be a short lived thing due to outside factors that I don't control. In fact, it is likely that it will only be good for a couple of years at best.

Now much like the llama or alpaca business, you have to follow trends and dump at the right time. The people still in the alpaca business are seeing the interest die down and the smart ones are getting out.

In this case, it is the same thing. The fire on this will burn for awhile, but I will eventually sell it when the opportunity knocks.

I totally understand that Ray, but my question still stands, if it is a "personal" site, why would you ever even consider selling it?

Little story about me - I started out in this crazy biz in 1999/2000 and the first domain I purchased was for ME and for me alone. The domain that I got was completely uneek (or unique if you want to check for spelling - lol) to me as the domain that I purchased was *Adamthewebguy.com - and I am still Adamthewebguy, but it did not sound so good going into a company and saying:

"Hi, my name is Adam from Adamthewebguy web design, I would like to talk to you today about your web site ..... what? You dont have one? ....." and so on.
But it came to a point where that was almost embarrasing, so my wifey came up with the name "Straight Focus" and the .com was available, so I quickly changed the company name, and it has been SF ever since.

Well, I let my first domain expire, and just recently, I had the urge to purchase it again, so I now own my first domain again and I am starting a blog there soon.

My whole point of this is that if it is a "personal" domain, why even think about selling it, just keep it for life :)

Anyway, thats just my opinion, I know you are always chasing the almighty $ - lol

Best of Luck!

Ah.....Clarification: Personal for payperclick revenue, adsense, and a small blog about something.

My first website: Showbiz2.com suffered the same fate as your first one. I know own it again (THANK GOD NO ONE SNAPPED UP THAT GEM!), but really haven't done anything with it.

In reality, now that I think about it, I have about 8 personal websites. Which is really sad now that I think about it.
