I’m dealing with a strange and potentially serious issue with Unstoppable Domains and wanted to see whether anyone else has experienced something similar.

On May 27, 2026, I transferred a group of 11 .com domains into Unstoppable Domains. Their receipt specifically described the transactions as “Extend Registration and Transfer,” and I also received an email confirming that several of the transfers had successfully completed. The whois expiration dates show mid-2027 for expiration and I was assuming they were fine, until they started disappearing from my account and I went to investigate.

I emailed and received a quick response. Unstoppable support told me that at least one domain “expired, then it went to Expired Auctions where it was bid on, then it was transferred to the winner.” I then explained these aren't expired domains and then it became obvious they messed up, so now they are "hiding out" and haven't responded to any further inquiries. After this email they have gone "radio silent" as it is obvious now that their systems have glitched, but I am still assuming it wasn't intentional, although that is an assumption and not a fact. They should be responding to me though instead of hiding out.

4 out of the 11 domains appear to have already been auctioned/transferred away. Others still appear in my Unstoppable account but are marked expired. I transferred one away but 4 are stuck in redemption. CURRENT 10 DOMAINS ARE MISSING DUE TO UNSTOPPABLE'S LATEST GLITCH.

Today I paid approximately $362 in redemption/recovery charges for four of the domains because I did not want to risk losing any more of them.

After the payment:

No additional registration time appeared.

The domains were not restored to normal status.

I still do not have normal control of them.

The account continues to show the same problem.

PLEASE HELP ME SO THAT UNSTOPPABLE DOMAINS DOESN'T CONTINUE SELLING MY DOMAINS OUT FROM UNDER ME FOR NO REASON. SINCE THEY ARE NOT RESPONDING IN A TIMELY FASHION I HAVE NO CHOICE THAN TO INVOLVE THIRD PARTIES UNTIL THEY ARE FORCED TO REFUND ME AND/OR PROVIDE COMPENSATION FOR THE DOMAINS THEY INCORRECTLY SOLD AND THE FALSE ADVERTISING STATING IF I PAY $362 IN RESTORAL FEES THAT WILL SOMEHOW SAVE THE DOMAINS WHEN NO TIME WAS ADDED.

UPDATE: The guy promised to refund the $362 but has NOT saved the domains and keeps referencing these fabled "engineers" who are supposedly working on this while doing absolutely nothing. They had time to create a new email to send to everyone letting them know their domains are going to auction - this happened in response to my issue. So they have time to do that but they don't have time to restore people's domains to their account.

Does this sort of thing happen very often?

You must provide evidence, else it looks too easy to text any issue towards UD without evidence.

Thats true, but assuming the evidence is there (which it is), I may need some help in recovering the domains/etc. if they say they won't help, or they keep not responding.

Same issue mentioned here:

@Pairadice you edited your original question out - did it get resolved?

It's NOT resolved, but I am weighing whether posting on this board is going to make things better or worse for the situation. Yes I still need help but was going to wait a few days to hear from them as they went radio silent even though they helped the guy already at the link you posted, for me they won't respond at all.

UPDATE: I received a response from UD after 2 days of hearing nothing, but the support response did nothing, no promise to safeguard the 6 names still at their registrar. They asked me a question that they could have asked to a chat bot and received a similar answer: did I renew the domains at the previous registrar before transferring? Not only did I not do that, but if I had there would still have been a year left of service on these domains! WHAT THE HECK, SAFEGUARD MY DOMAINS AND STOP ASKING STUPID QUESTIONS AND WASTING TIME

Also I noticed they put out a new email starting today saying "your domain is going to auction". They did not send these in the past. So clearly they are scrambling

And that 800 number that was provided by someone in another thread goes NOWHERE - that 800 number DOES NOT WORK

I called that one 800 number from Canada eh
It just went to a generic voicemail. Didn’t even identify the company or anything.
Sorry you got burned, life is hard enough as it is without dishonesty.

@Unstoppable Domains

Thanks. Well I wanted to chock it up to just a glitch/oversight on their part.

But their subsequent behavior while the domains are still expired in their system when whois shows they are not, is extremely concerning.

The fact I had to wait 2 days for inane response, makes me think they are stalling so they can continue stealing more names.

It's funny how they've been tagged in this thread and yet they refuse to communicate. They care only about their own liability, not anyone's names from being stolen (by them).

I thought legitimate regisrtrars would be a bit less shady than this.

Lesson: Just because they are icann-accredited, have sedo and afternic fast transfer, does not mean they are not finding illegal ways to steal people's domains.

It is worth, because you protest here, the more people join the faster they will move to resolve the issue.

UPDATE: Received a response from a customer service guy from unstoppable finally. At step in the right direction, but again still stalling and not returning the domains to my account and asking more questions - i.e., more cheap talk rather than any action on the situation.

He refunds me for the restoral fees I've spent, but I would have disputed the credit card transaction anyway so that does little.

The only appropriate response is them saying they've returned the 6 domains to my account that are still at unstoppable.

The guy offers me $150 in credits for 5 domains that were stolen. I think that's a bit low especially since credits will only be good at the same service which is stealing the same names in the first place.

@Unstoppable Domains

UPDATE: This incompetent business sent me an email yesterday "our engineers are working on it as we speak." Apparently they had time to put out an update where it now emails people before auctioning off their domains, something they did not have before I mentioned this issue. 18 HOURS LATER - NO ACTION AND MY DOMAINS ARE STILL BEING AUCTIONED OFF. YOU WOULD THINK THIS IS THE EASIEST THING TO DO IS TO RESCUE DOMAINS AT YOUR OWN REGISTRAR AND THEN RETURN THEM TO THE PAYING CUSTOMER. I CAN'T FATHOM WHY AFTER 18 HOURS THESE INCOMPETENT BABOONS STILL HAVE NOT RETURNED THE 6 DOMAINS STILL AT THEIR REGISTRAR, TO SPEAK NOTHING OF THE OTHER 5 THEY SOLD AND OFFERED ME A MEASLY $150 IN STORE CREDIT FOR. I TOLD THEM VIA EMAIL IF THEY DID NOT HAVE THE 6 DOMAINS RETURNED TO MY ACCOUNT BY THE MORNING, THEN I WOULD BEGIN FILING WITH ICANN AND THE COURTS. WELL, IT'S ALMOST THE MORNING AND I'VE HEARD NOTHING. THESE INCOMPETENT IDIOTS APPARENTLY CAN'T RETURN PEOPLE'S DOMAINS TO THEM IN A NORMAL TIME FRAME. I AM NOT SITTING AROUND AS THEY LOSE THE OTHER 6. IF THEY CAN'T COMMUNICATE OR COOPERATE THEN ICANN WILL DEAL WITH THEM.

@Unstoppable Domains

I have a quick question for the board: if you have 6 domains and a registrar shows them as expired even though they are not, and you ask them to fix it, would you think they would be able to fix it within 24 hours, or would it take longer? I imagine it would take less than 5 minutes - yet they say they have a "team of engineers" working on this and still haven't restored the domains to my account. Is this something that should take days and days to fix and risk the domains being deleted in the interim? Or would you act as quickly as possible to keep them from being deleted. Let's say somone already spent $362 to restore them and nothing happened and you had to refund them. Would you still let the domains continue to expire, or would you lift a finger to stop that?
