^ this is incorrect, I previously misspoke about this. we have a 40 day grace period during which you can transfer out, without penalty (as during grace period it will necessarily be more than 1 year after transfer in).

Update: Unstoppable Domains confirmed that Transfer out during the grace period (i.e. 40 days after expiry) is allowed without penalty.
