I have a bad experience with SnapNames.com and NetworkSolutions.com

I have purchased Wisio.com from SnapNames.com auctions on 4th Nov and made a payment and domain added to my Network solutions account on same day.

I have notified from bank today saying that refund credited and when I visited my netsol account, there is no domain.

Without informing me, how they remove from my account. They should have to notify me at least. Very strange and Unprofessional.

I believe, it's private auction since domain name was registered through DomCollect International GmbH.
I believe, DomCollect is a domain reseller and domain is with netsol but in different account.

Can anyone please help me with all whois history details for Wisio.com

Is it very common?
Do I need to contact anyone(SnapNames/Networksolutions) here to help me further?

No, DomCollect is just a holding company, unless they sold it for next to nothing, and realized their mistake, and decided to take it back, it is very uncommon to clawback a domain like this.

Was it an expired listing, or a marketplace type BIN listing?

I have backordered this domain name on SnapNames. not sure, but I believe, it's a private auction!

Ownership of this domain has now been transferred to a domainer in Australia. The pre-expiry owner was an individual in Germany.

Thanks. That is what I suspected. No communication from SnapNames.com or NetworkSolutions.com on this. It seems, something is going wrong

Yes, it appears that they initially awarded the auction win to you (and transferred ownership accordingly), but then shortly afterwards took back the domain back on a registrar level and gave the domain to another domainer.

Any idea why they would do this?

No idea. I have placed winning bid and domain added. I'm not sure what's going on. No communication. I just visited my account but didn't find the domain name

Go to snapnames, then “my account” then “purchase history” - is the payment receipt still there?

Also look at “order history” and see if the domain is still listed. Then click on “You!” in the high bidder column to bring up the bid history. What does the bid history look like?

They are so smart and cleared all history. Nothing is left to see but I have three mails from SnapNames.com

That's strange. I would have understood if they moved the domain back to the original owner. But it doesn't make sense for them to take the domain back and give to another domainer after you have won, paid for, and received the domain. Please let us know their explanation when they reply.

They have awarded to other domainer but I don't think accuracy of info they have provided to me

I just received a response from Angela Davis and saying that
"
Thank you for reaching out with your concern regarding wisio.com. Our registrar partner erroneously triggered a duplicate auction via API on the domain, which went through our fulfillment process unfortunately. The domain systematically pushed from the original auction winner’s NS account to yours, and to maintain auction integrity, the domain had to be pushed back to the original winner’s account. Overall, this was a registrar issue outside of SnapNames’ direct control. I apologize greatly for the confusion and hope this transparency helps.

Please be assured that a full refund of $114 was issued to your credit card on file. Please let me know if you have further questions or concerns, I’ll be glad to assist."

But here is my question,
When they ran other auction apart from this. When this Australia guy won the auction. He is not a previous owner of the domain based on whois history

I think she means they pushed the domain to him for a brief period after the auction, before they pushed it to you. And then they pushed it back to him after taking it from your account. I wonder how much he paid in the "duplicate" auction (and whether that had an impact on who was awarded the domain).

If that is the case, we can see this aus guy info on domain whois history but nothing recorded. That's very strange!

They have mentioned that they ran two auctions and both on snapnames.com itself

Update : I have received another update from Angie

Hi Praveen,

I value your concern, and I apologize for the delay in communication of the error.

At a high level, the domain underwent two auctions. The registrant you see in Australia acquired the domain on 10/27/2017.
Unfortunately, an error in the API on our partner’s side re-listed the domain in their inventory, which caused several participants to place an order (yourself included on 10/30), and sent the domain into a duplicate, erroneous auction. Our system acted as though the first auction did not exist and fulfilled the domain to your account.

We must uphold the obligation to the first auction winner, and we must do our best to preserve your business as well. Again, I hope this information adds clarity. Please let me know if there is anything further we can do to assist.

Best regards,

Angie Davis

Manager, Partner Operations
So SnapNames.com auctioned the domain name twice and taken away from my account without notifying me and cleared all history too.

I'm scanning expired lists daily but didn't notice there were two auctions. I lost around $5 as international markup fee and they wasted my time as well.

So every domainer will login to their/ netsol account daily to verify if domain is removed or not (LOL)
