Snapnames.com account

This makes me think that the real goal of all this is not to make sure that I will actually receive the money, but, for some reason, to collect the seller's personal documents.

I wanted to close/delete my account at "Snapnames.com", because I am not using their website anymore.
They asked me to upload my Passport-documents (via some 3rd-party entity they are using) in order to close my customer-account.
There is not even any money involved - I just asked them to close my customer-account with them.

I dislike how much info snapnames/namejet takes from you when signing up (ie ID upload).

I can't believe that they are asking for passport docs to close account.

This is absolutely unacceptable. The website still looks like it was made in 2008 and I'm sure their database is dated as well. They are one breach away from losing absolutely all credibility.
