Yeah, it's weird.

Names registered at Namebright, GD, Name & Pheenix all seem to be brokered but my names at Dynadot aren't.

i gave them a call about this once.. seems the key part is that each time someone makes offer on your domain through their aftermarket, it goes automatically to broker. cause its their market. and they say your using their ressources and get found using their setup.

I'm not sure what other ways or methods of finding yoru domains using uniregistry that does leave you with, so that it goes directly to you and not broker.. but I guess redirecting to that mountain like picture lander (like it was on domain name sales parking for sale lander) with the 3 input lines for name/phone/email.. would be one of them.

but they said that even then, if the buyer's email matches one that exists in their database (for whichever domain iqnuiry belonging to whoever) going back they say 30 days (though I think it could be more)... it'll still going to go to broker.

all in all... its a bit confuisng.. and no one from unireg seems pressed to clarify here.. so I guess they just want you to use broker.. and give you an opt out option like a xmas decoration.. to make thigns look better.

cheers

Thanks for the extra info, I wasn't even aware of that, I can understand an inquiry through their platform would turn into a brokered lead. Half of my names on that platform don't really merit using a broker as they're low value names.

I also dropped them an email last night regarding this so will update the thread if I get any different information.

Beside the fact that they broker our domains without our consent, they also lie to potential buyers and don't reply to messages. I tried them once, and that was enough for me. I've parked a new domain there, set the price, and sent emails to potential buyers in the range of low xxx. After a few days, browsing through their site, I found that a buyer sent somehow a $100 offer (while I had only BIN, no offers), a broker got that offer and replied with high xxx counteroffer, saying that he spoke to the owner and they agreed on this price.

I imagine what the buyer thought after receiving that email. First, you receive a message with a low xxx BIN price, then, a counter-offer with a price 4 times higher... "They are crazy, run away..." As you understand, no reply from that buyer anymore.

Second, after I read the broker's email I sent him a message asking when did he discuss with about the price? No reply... But he doesn't forget to bother the buyer again with a "Would you send a higher offer?"... And again, after a new message from me saying the domain is no more for sale, no reply...

So, after this circus, I decided to stay away from them...

I've had similar situations happen to me in the past, the broker quoting well over the asking prices and scaring buyers away and then trying to make it better by offering them a poor extension from their registry.

What platform are you using at the moment Ted? I really like the system at Uniregistry but situations like this make you move away.

I'm parking the domains at Bodis, and listing them at Godaddy Auctions. That's all.

good choices. may I ask if you are on a parked page with bodis or redirect to sale lander right away?

I'm also a big fan of gd auctions. most my sales happened there, even though I have my domains in all main 4 places.. sedo flippa afternic uniregistry...
and I had nothing but smooth dealings with gd auctions.. smooth transfer process.. smooth escrowing of payument and then smooth payout

the only thing I wish was there for gd is ability for anyone to make offer on our domain auctions withoiut needing to pay the $5 for an account.. that's usually no prob for domainers as they all hold paid gd auction accounts etc.. but we all strive for enduser sales... and many can be turned off by not only hsving to open an account ot make offer, but to pay $5 on top of it.

I wonder if anything at all can be done about this charge by godaddy? or is it just that.. a way for gd to make a few extra bucks? perhaps @Joe Styler wouldn't mind commenting on this. other auctions do not have this fee requirement. including yours truly, afternic auctions.

thanks for considering and responding to this Joe!

Redirect to sale lander. I want to make the potential buyer send a message without reading any additional information and getting distracted.

Couple weeks in, I have had it with these people. Just looking at enquiry I had. Got the email are you owner, whats price. I said 1200$
Then it gets confusing as broker says he doesnt have a price, buyer wants price.
Broker says 1k minimum offer, then i just go look, they send a couple generic emails and price is now $3300 after low offer required of 1K. Reading it again, its a mess.

Dec15 We have received an inquiry on **********.ca. We would appreciate it very much if you could provide us with an up-to-date price and verify that you are still the owner of this domain name. Thank you! Darryl Lopes Domain Broker | Uniregistry

Dec15 Hi Darryl, I am the registered owner. It is at Rebel.com and can be transferred. Due to legalization announcements, I have to ask $1200 for this name, Thanks,

Dec15 Hello Buyer, My name is Darryl and I am a Domain Broker representing the owners of *****.ca. My client requires a minimum offer of 1,000 USD to even get a price let alone to make a sale. Typically, I have prices readily available from my client, however I am not sure if this one is for sale. In these situations it would require an offer. Feel free to respond to this email or go to the link below to make an offer. Thank you. Make an offer
( I did give him price $1200)

Re: *******.ca
Do you have a counter offer? Darryl Lopes Domain Broker | Uniregistry

I asked $1200 guy comes back with minimum offer of 1k ya ok
Then price jumps to $3300 without my knowledge
Buyer cant make that work cause price went from $1000 make offer to $3300 bin
Between you and i, would take $400
I also messaged broker with no reply for 2 weeks.

So I like others got a few offers off the bat for different names( quite common) but no action.
I did make an inquiry about a name at uni last Jan and till Nov the broker would pester me. Last message was am i on vacation? I was nice enough not to reply.
Time to start changing dns back to sedo.
Using their dns all the buyer gets is a page to enter personal info.(frank likes this)
My lander requires a offer form, ability to make comment and possible bin
None of those are available if you use there .link dns

Can't remember what the first of 3 names i got offer on, their interface sucks, and Frank's names always show up first in marketplace anyways.
My rating of uni so far 2/10
And the email adresses they show with my names are so wrong, it is nice to see email of previous owners, but they should be able to update whois.

Wasted a few hours setting everything up at uniregistry, now i have to go rectify this situation
Maybe efty is worth a 10 spot per?

Got my first uni inquiry couple days ago - low price xyz, but it originally had default 2K minimum. Inquiry w/o offer, I sent back asking for offer. So far has me as only broker.

Appreciate this thread - hope I get no gotchas

Others have complained about Domain Name Sales and then Uniregistry pushing other

domains that they broker when someone inquires about a domain listed at their marketplace.

It is hard enough to sell your domains as it is without Uniregistry brokers hijacking your sale.

Never understood the hype around Uniregistry.

Frank Schilling is a very likable guy and very charismatic too.

He is great at promoting his brand and his New gtlds.

I bought into the hype and moved some of my domains there for a while to try it out.

Lately I have been moving them out.

People talk about the great interface and ease of use and other features.

I see nothing special there and have encountered a few problems with the interface.

Personally I like the prices and interfaces of other registrars better.

Just my opinion.

https://uniregistry.com/market/contact/darkweb.xyz substitute url and voila, buyer can make offer, or just contact you. I thought I would do it their way, but taking my $1000 minimum offer requirement and then telling buyer 3K bin is bad.:poop:

I feel you, that it was not working in this case. But would you complain if you sold it for 3300 USD? I mean in some cases they can get the most for the domains. I sold few 3-4 word .coms and even 3 word .org for much higher price than I could imagine.

But would you complain if you sold it for 3300 USD?
It's a PITA when they quote a price on their own, without discussing with the owner. In the case of MasterOfMyDomains he is satisfied with $1200, and there were great chances that buyer would accept it. Now, the sale is lost, and no money in the bank... So, now let's ask this questions, $1200 in the bank or $3300 in the sky?

Are there any fees involved at Uniregistery when you move your domains there?

Beside the minimum $175, none... :)

ya i would be happy with 3300. However considering circumstances like i said i would have taken $400
Fingered i would open at 1200maybe get a counter.
And they quoted him $1000 low offer first, then $3300 300% increae. What did the buyer think then?
It was $1200 now is $3300
Whats better, getting 100 times what you paid, or getting nothing except an offer from someone who thinks uni is effing nuts.

Summary: no I wouldn't complain if i got $400 if i got $3300 for sure the guy was wacked out on bc bud, and i would party like its 1999. RIP drug addict WeMissPrince.lol

I did email the guy directly, few days ago and quoted $420 said i would put bin on uni, but no reply.
$1200>$3300>$420

I say price is $1000 that is the price, I dont need some king :poop: playing with numbers, cause he dont care. probably sold the guy one of Franks names, considering it was way cheaper than $3300

I had a similar situation with Sean Landreth, he priced an average name at over 4k when I said I was only looking for just over 1k.

I understand they want to make more commissions but they need to really respect the valuations that the sellers set.
