I was contacted by an Afternic broker to buy a domain for his client. I wasn't even registered on the website afternic.com. Naturally, this domain was not in their listings or marketplace. The domain was sold for $25,000. Afternic wants to keep a 30% commission from me. Their rules are that the buyer pays the broker $99 + 20% of the sale price.

GoDaddy+Afternic persistently send payments without providing my bank with the document it wants, and the bank persistently sends payments back. It will probably continue like this until the money is wiped out due to bank fees.

The bank said that if GoDaddy+Afternic persistently sends me money without accompanying it with the documents required by the bank, the bank will terminate my service.

Just curious,
what kind of documents are those that are needed? Are you sure it's not something that you should have done between you and the bank? eg. have you received money without problems from other venues to that specific bank?

This is a sad situation. As I've never had my bank asking me for any documents when I receive money, I'm just trying to think what might have gone wrong with your case.

This is same as my local bank told, they require a contract of what was sold, as evidence it is not money laundering, but I think this is a measure to prevent one to get rich in our poor countries, because big money = to big power and influence.
Also other solution is very likely to have a local registered business, if not wrong, this is to show how much money you make, what you sell and pay taxes, you need to make everything documented, that is how the system works.
In such situations crypto may help.
P.s. try show an invoice to the bank, the invoice must probably show domain sold and amount, maybe this will also help.

Of course Godaddy should reimburse any fees incurred in the rejected transfers.

If Godaddy/Afternic cannot resolve this, you could contact their payment provider, Tipalti to explain the problem.

Did bank charged you this additional 15% or you mean Afternic fee?
15% is Afternic fee.
My bank fee 0%.
There were also small commissions from intermediary banks.

The company Lovable Labs is currently on the rise. Many people make websites with its AI help. But they can't afford to buy a domain lovable.ai yet.
Igor, have you sold lovable.ai to Lovable? Just curious.

No, I never owned this domain.

No, I never owned this domain.
I read at the beginning of this thread that you mentioned Lovable didn’t have their .ai domain, and I assumed you might have owned it at some point. Thanks for the confirmation.
