Has anyone used undeveloped.com to sell domains? They claim to be able to increase a domainers sales by 54%.

While doing some more testing I realised that the reason custom backgrounds are seemingly overly compressed isn't that at all. They are in fact being resized to a maximum of 500 pixels in height and then using the cover attribute to have your web browser stretch the image to the required size. Resulting in the blurry compressed look you see on larger resolution displays.

And then I came to notice that it does kind of mention this in the information tooltip where you upload your custom banner image but, I bet that hasn't stopped only myself in reading that to mean that we can use larger images as long as they don't exceed the filesize limit. As it doesn't mention that the images we use will be resized in proportion to these 1280x500 (w x h) maximum dimensions.

Examples:

A 1920x1080 image will become 750x500

I then started cropping to try and help with the quality but never realised that these were also being resized:

A 1920x800 image will become 1200x500
A 1920x600 image will become 1280x400
A 1600x500 image will become 1200x400
and so on...

So if you want your backgrounds to retain their quality (after all they say up to 2MB maximum filesize allowed), crop your image as best you can from its original size to have 1280 pixels in width and 500 pixels in height.

...doesn't hurt to add a little blur to it either.

I don't know how it can be fixed, to not look like with the start of each month, we've lost most viewers to our domains?

I believe the number of views resets back to 0 at the beginning of each month. This would explain the graph "crash."

You’re correct. Even with monthly views increasing overall, with the beginning of each month it looks like the viewer numbers are falling.

BUT just my 2 cents for all of us.... @Reza I think if you want to keep the dark green font, the colors, should be switched on the TEXT!...Make the DOMAIN NAME WHITE, and the ( this domain is for sale) part the DARK GREEN.

As of now, doesn't really matter what IMAGE we select ...this COLOR is HARD TO SEE on any background! ( other than a white one) Yet....When I HIGHLIGHT my name on the lander( as if Im about to copy it)..look how much more clear and easy the name is to read!!

For an example look at my CannaPro.org the image is good, but the name is NOT clearly readable nore does it pop out at you.......

NOW......HIGHTLIGHT the name................How well are you able to see and read it after doing so?????

the point is this

undeveloped was running fine

-never change a winning system-

means the switch to the new system brings in a lot of variables
some of them may bring harm
you don't know yet
as it was untestable


but a new layout
is a superfluous change

and w/o testing
an unnecessary threat
to the performance

@Reza or better yet I have a fantastic idea.....

Make the DOMAIN NAME match the BUY IT NOW BUTTON!

Green Box with white letters! It will Stand out NO MATTER the background/image!

You could even go a step further, and make it "clickable" just as the BIN button is....Giving each name essentially..2x The chances of a 1step/click to the "Buying Processes "!

It would be great to have an option to bulk edit rent prices just as we can edit sales prices.
Is that something you’re planning to implement?

@Reza why still no option to add price when adding domain names? I'm adding at once 20-30 domains and its so waste of time to set BIN prices for each one after they are submited, please add such option with ability to choice currency (eur,usd).

Undeveloped is my #1, But I wanna see it more better in the future so I recommend these two:

A way to accumulate earnings (Since my sales are in $$ range, I have to atleast accumulate it till it reach $500 for a wire transfer)

And secondly, Your own domain registrar. That's real #Automation.

Accumulating earnings is great but touches on a gray area as DAN isn't a bank or similar and for holding customers funds they'd need proper licensing. I see it more as a legal hurdle than a development one.

Also, it could be very nice if they became partners with any of the domainer-friendly registrars (Dynadot, Namesilo, Epik) to allow payouts to the registrar account without fees.

True but my point was about legally being able to hold customer's funds for indefinite periods remains valid

Delaying funds availability is a common industry practice. It’s a rare bank that doesn’t charge big fees per transaction. Wire transfer to China bank.. it can cost about $10- $50 (or more) for each transfer. (I guess that's the reason they puts a hold and protect you to some extent, not paying fees and losing the money; wire $30, fees $40 = -$10)
