Has anyone used undeveloped.com to sell domains? They claim to be able to increase a domainers sales by 54%.

I complained to DAN support about deleting an old listing so that i can list mine. They did nothing about it after promising to attend to me.

It is annoying. If not that Godaddy's commission is too high, i would have moved the domain name there.

After using more than 15+ years of Escrow.com i must admit that i switched Eur sales to DAN as Escrow.com is not accepting credit card payments in EURO.

Well done DAN!

PS: But still using Escrow.com for 6 figure sales, as fees is way much better than DAN.

Today's new font color for the domain is clashing with almost every background I'm trying to use, hard to read, can't recall having problem before with any background (did it used to adjust?). Also, it'd be cool if the tagline read "Domain Automation Network" or this was displayed anywhere on the landing pages so people get an idea what 'Dan' is, maybe on the Footer? as well as some more badges to help gain trust? Social media? contact #? Adyen link? on the checkout page? Now it's just blank. Giving feedback based on if I was a buyer, if I saw this stuff it would make a difference for me! So I know it will others.

Also, how about a fundraiser so we can get some type of sales/introduction video made for the landing pages like the brandable marketplaces have? I'd donate because I know this is going to help increase sales.

I know you guys have your hands full right now with the new launch, just watering my seeds :)

Great job

From a style perspective, the aesthetic of the landing pages and their colours do appear to have been down the list compared to core functionality, which as annoying and bothersome as that can be, is preferable to something looking great but not working. :xf.eek:

And it is funny to me that with DAN we have a bit of the opposite going on compared to what we were experiencing with Undev, in that the landing pages looked great but the search and filters were somewhat lacking. Whereas now, we have some nice search functionality (more results per page would be nice) but the landing pages need some attention.

The good thing is the styling can be fairly easily taken care of and I am sure Reza has mentioned that they actually have a redesign or new look under development and are at the moment just gradually rolling it out to make the transition easier.

It has changed.
The logo.
Having the tagline as Domain Automation Network under dan.com can lead buyers to confusion. They don't know wt* that means.
Now the new tagline reads ''fast & easy domain transfers''.
It is perfect, by far the best tagline you could find.

The layout is not perfect.
People were saying that DAN alone is better than DAN.com.
But with the new long tagline, you should definitly put the .com.
Keep .com same as DAN font.

I personally like the new font colors on the landing pages. Makes it stand out a lot.
I've had a background for months but I took it off as it now looks clean.

Currently,
when you have a background, seller name is white. (when its not clickable).
When you don't have a background, seller name is grey.
When its clickable it's green in both cases (like examples below).

So to make everyone happy.
When there's a background, make the domain name appear as white.
When there's no background, keep it green.

Or let them choose color. Because as per example below, the green looks OK on the second picture, but very bad on the third red picture.

The tagline or the layout?
Would you like ''Domain Automation Network'' better?

If not ''fast & easy domain transfers'', another combination of words perhaps?

Do you agree that a the average person landing on the page and understanding that dan.com is about gaining ownership of a domain name fast and easy is better than

landing on a page, reading DAN DOMAIN AUTOMATION NETWORK, not knowing if you're on a website about API HTTPS NETWORKING SATELLITES FIBEROPTICS, or some provider of INDUSTRIAL INTERNET SOLUTIONS that somehow happens to have your domain name which subconsciously means having to deal with a thousands steps and weeks before receiving an industrial quote with a billion terms.

It has to be simple and self-explanatory.

What could work and be fairly easy to implement is having two taglines rotate between one another.

So "Domain Automation Network" shows first to immediately show what DAN is and then have "fast & easy domain transfers" afterwards.

Hmm, might "fast, easy & secure domain transfers" also instil more confidence in normal users?

How about "fast, easy and secure domain transfers"

Security aspect is paramount to buyers.

Many times I have asked them to remove the listing and to remind sellers to keep their lists up to date. They don’t pull it even if you prove you own it. It’s annoying.

The layout is fine. I also like the logo, and I think it is good they removed .COM from DAN. But I think the tagline should convey that they are about buying and selling domain names - not just transferring them.

Sedo has "Buy. Park. Sell. Domains". That pretty much says it all. Undeveloped's old tagline was also good, I think. But I don't remember exactly how it went.

Agree, it looks really bad if you have a background. I barely see the domain name ... classic "make it till you break it
Yes I discovered that with my background the domain name is almost invisible. For now I simply removed the background image, but in longer term would like if somehow it is set so that a contrasting colour to the background image is used when there is an image.

Re tagline, I understand that DAN is the transfer part, but agree that a tagline that was something like "an easy way to find, buy and transfer domain names" might be more inclusive.

Please properly configure ns1.dan.com and ns2.dan.com
NS and SOA records in response... They point to undeveloped.com domain.

Also I don't understand why you set MX record...
What purpose???

We never said to any user to use ns1.dan.com and ns2.dan.com. Please don't switch and keep using ns1.undeveloped.com and ns2.undeveloped.com

Yes, you haven't said this here.
But in your panel when clicking Nameservers button - exactly ns1.dan.com and ns2.dan.com are displayed.

I see MX record even using old configuration.
Why you set this record? I don't need any email monetization or something like that.

You're absolutely right, that shouldn't be the case. We'll edit the button right away.

The MX records are always disabled on parking for security reasons.

???

dig -t MX example.tld @ns1.undeveloped.com

And you will see it...

Hello, hope someone can help me.

I'm trying to point all my .it domains to undeveloped landing pages, but the DNS change request sent to the 4 different Registrars holding them (OVH, Aruba, Nidoma.com, Match.it) are all refused (no problem with .es or .com domains).
When asked why they refused the NS change, one of them told me:

Dear customer, regarding your request to change the authoritative
nameservers, I inform you that following verification at the link dns-check.nic . it, the Italian Authority for the registration of
domains with .IT extension ( Nic-IT) provided a negative result, for the
following reason:

Check that the nameservers present in the SOA, NS and MX records, if
present, are not CNAME

Name Details Test status
ns1.undeveloped.com. SUCCESS
mx.mydomain.it. Unresolvable host mx.mydomain.it. FAILED
ns2.undeveloped.com. SUCCESS

Below are the details of the configuration error:

<test name = "CNAMEHostTest" status = "FAILED">
<detail name = "ns1.undeveloped.com." status = "SUCCEEDED" />
<detail name = "mx.mydomain.it." status = "FAILED" queryId =
"11">Unresolvable host mx.mydomain.it. </detail>
<detail name = "ns2.undeveloped.com." status = "SUCCEEDED" /> </test>

But the Undeveloped customer support told me that they have almost 14.000 .it domains pointing to their name servers and all are working good so the problem is not on their side.

And here I am and don't know in what direction investigate more... any help would be really appreciated.

Thank you

I agree that it should convey that message.
But the tagline should be focused on gaining ownership of a domain name (acquisition). Rather than a marketplace like sedo or ebay.

I think something like fast & easy domain acquisitions (or any synonym) could be OK.
But then keep in mind that they ambition to be big on domain transfers, even among registrars and other marketplaces.
So I think the current tagline is very good.
And the buyer understands it.

Why would you use mx.mydomain.it ? You only need two of their nameservers for Undeveloped Dan.

that is the output of the verification test
the name servers used are ns1.undeveloped.com and ns2.undeveloped.com

please note that I'm changing the name servers and I'm not changing specific DNS records, so I'm doing nothing on my side with mx record

Then that is an issue with your registrar, if the extra server is being added on its own. Try to change nameservers to something else, save them, then change back to undeveloped, if that does not work, you need to contact their support and explain that you use only two nameservers and this "mx.mydomain.it" is an error.
