Too many 502 Bad Gateway this afternoon at undeveloped.com

Yeah it's loading ultra-slow right now.

Hi guys,

The issues of yesterday had to do with this status update: https://twitter.com/Undeveloped/status/1044882606846877697

Can anyone suggest the fastest way to reach @Undeveloped? now i believe some messages a deliberately ignored. I have sent messages to online chat, escrow @Undeveloped, and transaction window about my sale with no response . It's over 24 hours now, am being ignored. You guys can continue to feel so big for all I care. There are Competitors everywhere

Hi HayKay,

I don't get this message here. Why would anyone from Undeveloped ignore you? Please note that your escrow agents are working overtime at the moment so when you send them 6 messages in 2 minutes in a row that doesn't mean you'll get priority over other sellers.

My Undeveloped experience has been mixed so far. I'm using them because of the installment option and them offering an easy to use escrow experience that takes hours versus days. On the other hand, their support is only available while I'm asleep (U.S. PST) so it takes 12-17 hours for me to get a response from them. And while they do always respond, some of the responses aren't helpful or require a follow-up, which means another 12-17 hours.

I'm hoping some regular users of Undeveloped can answer a few questions for me as I'm a newbie with them:

1) Each for sale page has a "branding" option where you can upload a logo or offer matching social media sites. My question is how does the social media site process work? Do they "acquire" it by having you change the email address of the social media site? I know some popular social media sites limit how many times you can change an email address or put a hold on when you can change it after doing a change. Has anyone used this process? Can you explain it further to me? Thanks!

2) Is there any way for someone viewing the page to see a larger version of the logo if you uploaded one?

3) Is there a storefront at all? I see there is a profile page, but I can't find a storefront.

4) How long does it take the Dashboard to kick in? I have 24 names and 87 views.

5) Any other general tips to get the best from Undeveloped?

I really wish sites like Undeveloped had better user guides and even an onboarding process. This is very important for new users.

Hi Bruce or Batman,

1: We don't supply social media handles, you can if you own them to create a brand package to sell. On the branded for sale page we show all the items you can deliver including which handles.

2: At the moment that's not possible, so far we also have had just 1 logo request so that tells us that end-users don't care that much about the logo (which makes sense since most companies prefer to design a logo that actually fits their brand philosophy).

3: The profile page is your storefront. Users can only search through your inventory there and you can brand the page to your liking.

4: The dashboard get's interesting once you see some leads coming in. We're revamping the dashboard soon though.

5: Use our for sale pages, enable installments, add content to your for sale pages (rich text editing is live for a couple of weeks).

@Undeveloped

Apparently, we have different interpretation of what "successfully" means:

=========
Your bulk import from September 27, 2018 has been successfully processed:

  • 0 domains added
  • 0 domains updated
  • 0 domains deleted
  • 0 domains ignored
  • 1 domains failed
View Report

If the button doesn't work, you can copy the following link into your browser bar:
==========

And then when I read the report, it says "you are not allowed to update this domain".

May I know why? ))

That message is meant to inform you that the bulk action was processed successfully. If you click on the button "View Report" you'll see more rich details about what worked and what didn't.

When you the "domain ignored" message that means that the domain was already listed in your account. The "domain failed" status means that we have to verify first that you own that name and will move it to your account once you send us a message via support.

How can I hide my name from sales lander page?

Yes head here to do that: https://undeveloped.com/users/settings/privacy

Hope that helps!

Reza - thanks for your answers! One quick followup question - how does the social media site TRANSFER work? Do we change email addresses to yours or the client or what? Thank you again.

No sane man will send 6 messages in 2 minutes. That's a bug on your system. It is better you correct that. Go back and check and why the same message is repeated 6 times in 2 minutes

Indeed, we'll simply connect you and the buyer and give you instructions on how to transfer ownership. Once confirmed by you and the buyer, we'll release the payment to you.

You seem a tad aggravated. If you want to organize a call to give me full context, feel free to ping me. I'm always ready to hear constructive feedback.

You guys need to be 24/7 and have support every day as i find this all delays payments.

I find it good but there are many issues that need sorting

At Undeveloped 100% of our revenue is re-invested in the product and service and we don't plan to change that anytime soon. We're heavily subsidizing growth and product development over generating profits. Our track record backs this up as we're constantly growing, evolving and improving.

Two months ago, for example, we already hired a new team member (James) to offer weekend support. In the not so distant future (potentially in 2018) we're planning to open our first US office to cover all time zones. So improvements on that level are on our radar and are being implemented.

I'm proud of the service level that our team is delivering as the youngest and fastest growing domain marketplace in our industry. Undeveloped's team is extremely hard working and everyone is making sacrifices because we believe strongly in our vision and disruption roadmap.

It's imprinted in the DNA of Undeveloped to always stay hungry and adopt a so-called beginners mind to our product and service. We keep challenging our processes and wherever we find room for improvement we act on it and implement it.

So be rest assured that we'll remain on top of things and will always keep challenging ourselves but also our industry to do better.

Hope that clarifies our point of view.

Kind regards,

Reza

Quick update:

The heavily requested revoke counter offer feature just went live.

We wouldn't advise to over-use this feature as it can hurt your sales to revoke counter offers too often.

Kind regards,

Reza

Really love the platform (especially the clear UI, landing pages, installment plans, fast support), but any plans on adding a small provision to your Terms of Service to protect your SELLERS?

For example, look at what SEDO has in the default sales agreement between buyers and sellers every time there is a sale:

"The BUYER understands and agrees that it is their sole responsibility and duty to perform all necessary due diligence before entering into this agreement to buy the Purchase Object, including research of fitness for particular intended uses, trademark clearance, or anything that could inhibit their future use and enjoyment of the Purchase Object."

Unfortunately I haven't found anything like that in Undeveloped's Terms of Service. In your TOS the burden seems to fall almost entirely on the seller. It seems like a reasonable provision to put some responsibility on buyers too, especially considering trademark/intellectual property law is not black and white and varies all around the world and also depends on how the BUYER ultimately "uses" the domain. It's probably something most sellers don't even consider but I bet they'd appreciate it if they understood the potential consequences.

Just a suggestion since I really like the platform and hope to continue using it for a long time!

No monthly fees too.

id say they both have clean beautiful landing pages, integrating escrow.com with efty offers the same benefits.

Im just trying to decide if I should continue to save money on commission using efty, I don't think there would be more conversions by switching to undeveloped.

If deal is about to go wrong which is normal in this business, undeveloped can step in to put things straight. Free brokerage service... imo
