Under what circumstances can NameJet loose an Enom domain to SnapNames?

I was under impression that NameJet had exclusive backordering for all Enom domains. Well on 29th NameJet had "lost" the domain to SnapNames. How could this happen?

If the domain wasn't backordered by anyone at NameJet, they would have allowed the domain to drop - then of course - its anyones game. Considering Snap still has quite a few registrars under its belt, its sure to suck up much of anything else as it falls from NameJet.

If the domain WAS backordered previously, that is a bit bizzare and can only be blamed on a bug in the system.

Ya it was back ordered by self and apparently one other person (per NJ system). And now it's listed as "wish list" after NJ missed it. Amazing eh?

I asked NJ directly, and here is what I got back:

I am sorry but we are subject to the names that they provide to us. If enom choose to let it go and Snap was able to pick that name up. We can't control that. So I am sorry we are not to help you.

Pretty dumb of them to lose out on that money.
