The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
A little bit of advice, never trust user reviews, because 90% of all reviews are bogus.

There is no perfect host, and there is no best host for you that anyone can tell you about, you have to decided that for yourself. I can tell you that hosting company A is the best, but then the next person will tell you some horror story they had with them.

Host Gator gets more positive than negatives from my experience. Keep in mind that people tend to leave feedback when they're unhappy much more often. A larger company will have a larger proportion of negative views because you're not always going to be able to keep everyone happy.

As OulZac said, there is no universal best host.

What sort of requirements do you have? Do you need these incredibly large amounts of transfer and space?

ohhh thnx. never going to read those stupid reviews again thanks to u both guyz :). yup i need large space now

There are verified forum reviews, like on WHT, and i think you can rely on this completely. What you can start with is to make a list of companies who meet your needs and ask about them along with contacting their reps.

yup but there are equal negative reviews of each host :hehe:

You need to speak to a companies support and get a feel for how they work, its not just the price you are shopping for, choosing hosting is a big decision.

I am sorry, I do not want to turn this into a bashing thread of another forum, but you the forum you speak of is the biggest joke in the industry.

That forum is nothing but a bunch of people ripping on everyone else's company trying to get there own customers, its a joke.

just start by trying out one host for a month, and when it starts to go downhill switch to another one off the recommended list etc. i'd usually go with hosts that have good support and have been around for awhile.

I was over there and it seems good to me but I am unexperienced in this, so I could easially be wrong here. What site would you reccomend instead?

Well, anyway, from what I've seen HostGator appears to be a place which oversells, and that if you actually tried to use the resources they allow you to, they'll kick you off due to some clause in the TOS that says that if you tie up to much of the processing power (which is nessissary to use the bandwidth they promise) then you can be kicked off. Though let me say, I have no personal experience with them.

Keep us posted so that we can know how it goes.
Its always good to read reviews before you sign up with a host. But don't swallow things directly.

There is always a choice between price and quality, this is the general truth. If
you really need 100 GB of disk space it will never! be cheap. Once you choose price over quality you then come again to these forums and complain that your account is suspended for resources overusage or for any ther reason ( as hosting provider will try to kick you off as they prefer you to pay 10 usd but use resource for 0.5 USD)

I am with eskhosting.com and so far their technical support has been really great, very fast, responsive and timely. Though the prices are not that cheap comparing toall tht unlimited everything hosting, but at least I know what I pay for

eskhosting.com does support it, you may check them out, good company, reliable, haven` had any issues with them so far

That's true and now I highly doubt you can get a shared hosting plan with stable server performance and top-notch support for less than $15, if you know a company meeting such requirements, plz let me know. I'm also looking for the significant number of emails (around 150).
The options I found on the forum are http://www.a2hosting.com/web_hosting.php
http://www.serverpoint.com/english/web-hosting.phtml
Any ideas on these companies and the price range?

Ive used many hosts, like HostGator, DreamHost, Servage, ServerRhino and numerous others. I have negative experiences with almost all hosts, but that's because the hosting debends on machines and connections. There are people, which are ddosing websites that they don't like to get them down. That causes also downtime for the whole server. This is why you should go with big companies because they have the best security.

I've used HostGator and they have really given me what I wanted. Smoothly working hosting, resources (If they oversell, it hasn't cause harm for me), quick support and the best: GOOD UPTIME. I don't have negative feedback to tell about them.

You could try Hostgator but don't go with little hosts. There are so much risks that someday the owner can close the host either act with unprofessional way.

That's what many people say, but not all little hosts are like that. All you need to do is research.

Actually you get what you pay for. I would recommend some host like HostDime, which charges quite more than the average cheap-hosting-plans. But you get quality services.

You cannot judge a host when everything is going fine. You will be able to judge a host when worse things happen. Then you will be able to see how they respond and update you on things.
Anyway, glad to see you are happy with your host.

When everything is going fine, that's a good sign, Matt. Not a bad one.
And yes, you can judge a host on that easily, you can have the peace of mind that your website is safe, because everything is fine.

Both web hosting companies (A2hosting.com and ServerPoint.com) offer feature-rich package plans but ServerPoint is more optimized for different applications like wordpress (blogging web hosting), drupal, gallery, etc.
Moreover, this company uses Zeus instead of Apache that lets the end-user to have a stable performance from this web hosting company.
But A2hosting supports PHP 5.2.x, MySQL 4.1.x, MySQL 5.0.x, PostgreSQL 8.2.x, Ruby on Rails 1.2.x that is very important for running your web site IMO.
As for the price range, they differ a little.
A2hosting shared web hosting costs starting at $4.95 per month and ServerPoint at $4.87 per month.
