No matter what domain I tried to register,It gets added to my cart and then this is what I get

The registry has reserved these.ukdomains for anyone who registered the matching .co.uk, .org.uk, .me.uk, .net.uk, .ltd.uk, .plc.uk domains before June 10, 2014. Those registrants have until June 10, 2019 to claim their.uk domain

Which is in a way saying that someone who ownes the .co.uk etc only get the chance to register those specific .uk domains till 2019!.

If I understood correctly, you basically can't do anything until 2019.
But who gets .uk domain if they have same keyword e.g. food.co.uk and food.net.uk? First come, first serve?

If the owner has food.co.uk, he can buy food.uk before anyone else has a chance i.e till 2019.

So .co.uk has a priority over .org.uk, .me.uk?

Probably but no registrar could confirm that for me so as of now, anyone with
.co.uk, .org.uk, .me.uk, .net.uk, .ltd.uk, .plc.uk
which he/she bought before 10th of june can buy a .uk before others get a chance till 2019.

If the .co.uk was registered before 29th October 2013 then the owner has priority to be able to register the .uk up to 2019.

registrars would probably be sending mails to every .co.uk to register .uk now.
and when that's done ,I hardly think any good .uk would be left

that's how it was always going to go, crazy to expect anything else in my view, it's always not about domainers

They did and they are. As I posted on another thread I will not be registering mine for 5 years unless I get an interest in the .co.uk.

Or, I decide to develop, in which case I would register and develop the .uk and forward the .co.uk.

When the registrars were sending out the emails they were not advising that owners had up to 5 years to register them, it was do it now money grabbing!

I am a UK registrar. Any .co.uk registered prior to the launch of .uk that had previously been registered (so not a brand new never before reg) has the rights to .uk and they have 5 years to claim it. I've got some nice ones personally, waiting to see if the launch of .uk increases interest.

I thought the rights only apply to those .co.uk registered before 29th October 2013?

Yes in a way you're right http://www.memorabledomains.co.uk/righttodotuk.pdf

But if a domain dropped between 29th October 2013 and 10th June 2014 and was caught that registrant has rights to .uk. So if example.co.uk dropped between 29th October 2013 and 10th June 2014 and was caught the new registrant will have rights to the .uk because it was originally registered before 29th October 2013, if that makes sense?

Sorry I know it's a tough one to explain.

Surprisingly I knew that too! :)

.co.uk has priority over the .uk until October 2014, then it is opened up to .org.uk, .net.uk, .me.uk, .plc.uk and .ltd.uk.
Then that pool has priority until 2019. If no-one takes it after 2019, it's available to the general public.

Well I found lots of premium names that are still available in the .uk. Unfortunately N-C took my money and haven't register the domains. .
