Typos form an integral part of Domain Parking Strategy.

The records show that almost all the commonly mistyped spellings/ variations of Popular/ Populated sites are taken, it suggests in itself the potential of Typos.

I simply wanted to catch your opinions, about the same. Whether typo domains are a Hit, or a Miss, in your parking portfolios.

You can simply state about the Typos that worked, and sort of average daily/ monthly/ all time revenues, typo domains have earned for you.

I bet that this will surely help every parking enthusiast, with lots of practical experience from those guys who had success with typos clicking for them.

Which variations worked the most for you?

I have just started with some typos, and getting visitors, as well as clicks.

Switching U with Y has worked, so as flipping O with P.

This will be very helpful

Also please state the number of C&Ds received, or UDRPs or ACPAs filed against you.
Details are not needed, an average will do.

Almost all typo domains are privacy protected, and for your information they are all grabbed by domain management companies.

I know there is a a scare of UDRPs. But, the typos have been there very much finely parked since years.

Does privacy offer any kind of defence against lawsuits?

I'm only asking because you mention it .Personally, I never thought privacy made any difference concerning illegal activities.

If you are infringing on the TM of the domains you are typo-squatting on, then I have nothing more than the most acute disrespect for your practices. You are the kind of person which tars the rest of us with your tainted brush.

Nope, it doesn't.

No, I am not.

I never bought a typo domain, but one domain that i never knew could turn out a typo.

Example:-

i got Deals/curry.com, and my theory behind registering it was to prepare some sort of a deal offering site.

But, there was already a site named deal/curry.com, and i get their traffic. Is it my fault?

What i found interesting was, many many big domain management companies holding onto the typos of the most visited sites of the world.

You could yourself go to Alexa, and check out for the top100 sites of the world, and their most mistyped variations.

I know people do it here, as well. Just that not all spill the beans.

Nitindomains I guess member stub is not directly referring to you in his remarks.

He is just saying it in general I guess.

Back to the topic : The example that you are talking about is singular plural issue and it won't fall into typos category as far as domainers are concerned. Typos are like tpyos

Thanks.

I think nitin has regged an obvious name deals curry which is perfect name and better than deal curry.
which I think the business owner must be confused about having a deal or having deals.
Anyway this cant be called a typo but an confusion about the domain name.
Does this confusing domain form a different category or they too are typos.
Can I have applesdealer.com for selling apples ??

I think nitin is disingenuous with his explanations because he keeps harping on about the typos of big companies in the top 100 Alexa rankings. Those typos, more often than not, are owned by the big companies themselves after having retrieved them from scumbag typo-squatters. He seems to be encouraging us, even suggesting this is what we already do, to seek out the typos of big companies websites, with the intention of making money off these big companies brands. Which has nothing at all to do with his registration of DealsCurry.com. These are two separate issues, imho.

Stub, with all due respect i am very much new to parking, and still learning.

Neither am i encouraging, nor am i disingenuous. Out of sheer excitement i checked upon some typos, and found out that they were all occupied. And, this happened because someone had told me about one domain parking company that made a hefty sum of money, in only a months period, from a popular shopping company's typo.

Thus, i posted and inquired. If there had been the case as you suggest about me, i wouldn't have posted in the first place.

I hold deals/curry.com and get some traffic, and i believe it is due to the confusion in the name. This was my intent, that i had wanted to discuss about.

When i stated about top sites, i am much true to my claims.
I checked and there are lots and lots of companies sitting over typo domains.

I never knew the legitimacy of it, and neither do i will to indulge in such practices, if they are deemed illegal.

Yes thats correct. Sure some people have TM Typos, but everyday they woke up, there could be an UDRP in their Mailbox. Since the generic Typos making 2000 USD per month like busines.com are all long long ago taken, You have a good chance to get creapy generic Typos which make around 1-2 USD per year. Ive been there. Go for the expired domains, its much easier and safe.

Also,

This topic has hugely been misdirected towards an altogether different realm, I never had referred to the TM domains.

Being in Top 100 Alexa List doesn't specifically mean that the "Domain would be a Trademark".

My reference would be the following site:-

"Blogfa"

Rank 2 in Iran.
Rank 141 Globally.

No trademark found for it, and typos taken.

What would you have to say about that?

I had never referred to TM domains, in any of my above posts. You may read again.

You are referring to 1 small exception. Go ahead buy an existing Typo of Blogfa and you will get tons of Iranian traffic. I guess at the end of the year counting all those cents you got, youll get impressed.

Shall i post more references here?

There are lots of domains, highly ranked, yet not trademarked.

You may check out on your own.

Sorry, but your example like Blogfa is really bad. Even not TM, the Typo of such a brandable word is not to be ever called Generic. You would have in this case difficulty to object "Cyber squating"

Decades,

It was merely an example/reference.

I am not going ahead and buying those domains, i only asked for some honest guidance/ experience of domainers who have had success in this space.

I wouldn't want to take the risk of inviting a UDRP, any day. I am not up for cyber-squatting TM domains. What prompted me to inquire over the Alexa sites was Deals/curry getting traffic.

My plain advice would be to stay away from all typos.
