I'd like to register about 20 typo domains for a high-traffic site.

This is my plan:
1st Register the 20 typo domains
2nd Track each domain for about 3-4 days
3rd Analyze which one brings traffic and which one doesn't
4th Refund the ones that don't bring traffic... keep the ones that do

I currently use namecheap but they charge you 1$ or 2$ (not sure) for each domain you refund.

Is there a domain registar which allows you to get a free refund of the unwanted domain, if yes.. which domain registar should I use to do this?

Your plan is called "domain tasting" and their are many big companies that do it already so dont expect to much luck. It used to be free but now it costs about 20 cents at least at most registrars. Some dont allow it at all I believe. I think the best registrar if you are doing this is Dynadot. They give you exact hours left before you cant refund anymore and its a quick process to cancel and refund.

I don't expect much, I just want to get some traffic from the high traffic site, which doesn't have any of the typos registered.
I've already registered wwwdomainname.com and another common typo of the domain, and I'm seeing suprisingly good traffic from it, I guess the domain is prone to typos.

20 cents per refund is fine with me, I'm gonna check out dynadot and ask for detailed information. Do you know what is the usual refund period after a domain is registered?

At Dynadot its immediate and an be done through the interface thats why I recommend them for this, at places like GD you have to email support to do this and even after that it takes some time to get the refund. Your refund at Dynadot will be credited to your account so you can use it for another domain registration.

you may try godaddy, but before deleting the domain in your account, for a sure refund call them first.
