OK, so here we are back to the 'why dot mobi will never make it' posts.
But let me tell you this..

I have 2 little girls.. 12 and 9. They go to different schools. Most of their friends have their own cell phones. (mine do not)

Remember the disney high school musical news? Well these friends.. these little girls do not think .com is for the phone. They 'HONESTLY' think that only .mobi sites are for phones. They look for other .mobi sites on their phones often. If they ever mention one they like I will share it with you.. or maybe I will post it in the other place since there is little 'love' here any more. This started with HSM2.mobi.

This is a small group of little girls in a small town in SC, who have no idea .com is even available on phones. What if other kids think this way?

The point is.. if this continues.. THINK about it.

Good post. I've changed my opinion on this. I used to think it was going to take the 'big boys' to make this thing go, but now I realize that this thing may take off with a more grassroots effort of smaller developers getting into the game, and by word of mouth spreading about these sites as they're developed.

They'd be growing up with .mobi, and in ten years.., just when they're in college ( or the older one getting out of college) mobi would be widely used ( crossing my fingers)
and they'd be looking for jobs on .mobi-Oh how I wish and hope! But, would be nice to hear their progress and what is an " in-site" of the moment for them. Thanks for the post!

Glad to see you're coming around, and keeping it real. Now as for Kucinich...:'(

Tweens do not like to be called 'tweens'. They consider themselves adults! Maybe it's a good thing you didn't get to register it, considering the reasoning you were going to. Saved some cash.

This is a good point.

Apart from us geeks, a lot of adults have a hard time keeping up with things, technologically speaking.

Okay, things were a LOT slower when we were kids, pretty much the only 2 bits of technology for about a decade lol, were the atari and the scalectrix.
I had to go next door to my buds house for them too! :'(

Anyway, point is , it will spread virally, this was always gonna be the way.
Of course tv ads & ads on the side of double deckers will be awesome & will no doubt come (bring it on i hear us shout) but it will mostly be tyhe kids telling their mums and dads how this stuff works.

I thought in first instance though , with all the phone companies involved, why dont they send everyone in the world with a phone one text a week for couple of months, or even once would do, explaining the wonders of .mobi & how it cpould help them. Couple of their links attached too, or examples.
Just a thought.

Anyway, it was a positive auction, a year in we have achieved more than i originally thought. The 2 upcoming auctions this side of christmas are great news. A little advertising is the next logical step imo.
cheers
