Hi,

Just wondering how long .tv generally take to propagate completely? It's around 2 days and the propagation is not completed yet. :/

Is that normal or is it because .com propagation are so fast these days and I'm spoiled? :yell:

This is the thing I don't understand. This is depend on their root DNS, sometimes between 3-7 days.

I know that .com .net and other TLD can complete the DNS update for 24-48 hours only.

.com .net .info usually instant for me. The most will be like an hour. Blah. CCTLDs.

I haven't had any problems at all.

Anywhere from 2-36 hours at the max, and typically around 8-12.

I reg most of mine at Dynadot, but that shouldn't matter.

'Propagation' has to do with two things here:

First, the .TV registry updates its zone about every 6 hours. .COM & the other GTLDs update every 3-5 minutes, so .tv updates will be a bit slower.

Second, your ISP also caches dns values. The length of time they cache does not necessarily (or often) correspond to TTL values, so you may often find that you're getting a cached DNS result from your ISP's DNS resolver, rather than a fresh dns lookup. (the one referred to above that updates every 6 hours)
