5 Day Propagation?!

On May 31st, I purchased http://linktrain.net. I transferred the entire site to my server, got the domain pushed to my namecheap account, updated the DNS and everything was setup.

Propagation with namecheap for me is usually instant or within the day. After 48 hours I was surprised when the site still wasn't working for me.

I tried it at a friend’s house and low and behold it was working. Does this have to do with my ISP, because I have never had issues like this before?

I'm going on 5 days and still can't access the site.

Any ideas?

Try ipconfig /flushdns in CMD (Run > CMD)

Should work,

Yes, I am now getting, "There is no website configured at this address."

Which is the old server it was on.

The same thing happened to me on one of my sites that all my friends can see but me. Here's what I did:
1) had a second friend verify that he could see my site, he could.
2) Realized some software on my machine was blocking it. Turned out to be Spysweeper was blocking searches from SearchFeed.com which is what this particular site ran off of.
3)Adjusted my Spysweeper settings and now I can see the site.

Yes, it is your ISP.

also you can try to access the site through a proxy as well.

I had this problem a while back and the problem was on my ISP end.

If you have cable try unpluging everything and rebooting.

:)

I'll try resetting my router and stuff, because I can view it from a friends house and proxy. Thanks for the help. I'll update you guys shortly :)

Just unplugged my router and modem with no luck either.

First person to help me figure this out gets 150NP :)

This same situation happened with me at my college. I registered a domain and it didn't work for a few days. Other people outside of my school's ISP could see it fine within 24 hours of me registering it.

What was even weirder that when it finally did work, it worked for a day, and then it stopped working again for a few more days after that. ?

Use a proxy server or any of those free proxy sites. If you're able to pull up an
active site for linktrain, that means your ISP isn't letting you see it using your
own computer for some reason.

More often than not it's a caching issue, something to discuss with them. I'm
able to view it on my end, and I replied to your thread about this in WHT. :D

If it's a cache issue, do you know of any other ways to try to clear it. Should I call my ISP up if not?

If you've exhausted all means to clear cache on your end based on what the
other posters mentioned, then calling your ISP is your last resort.

Weird...

http://www.linktrain.net/ works now, but http://linktrain.net/ doesn't. :?

Even more strange lol, I kept doing a hard refresh on the page, and it finally started working. Got both http and www working. So I think I'm all set :)

Thank god.

Both with www and without work for me :)

both link work fine for me too. Maybe you like to talk to your ISP and ask them how long is their DNS server refresh, then you can have a rough idea how fast your ISP work if a domain dns is change
