.tv .tv fans please chime in on this thread

I discovered a .tv v .mobi discussion regarding which were a better investment opportunity. Obviously, .mobi is good, but it would be nice to if some of the .tv fans chimed in on their persuasive reasons why .tv is a great opportunity.

I would be MUCH more likely to type in a short extension on my phone.

So if I had a choice, I would take the lazy way and type in .tv on my phone because NOTHING would be cooler then watching tv on my phone.

So the smart money is on getting a dot tv, and developing a site that can check and deliver rich media to both a PC AND and Mobile market.

Plus, as someone else stated, why on earth would you create an extension with MORE letters to type in on a telephone pad then you need to. Should have done .M

I think both are good investment at the moment. Both have great leaders/company at the helm, both have built solid relationships with none domain companies/entities i.e the .mobi consortium and .tv has Carson Daly etc. Both seem to have solid business models and have been aproaching everything strategically. I've been investing in both.

However, I prefer .tv over .mobi 60%-40% only because .tv will resonante better for an international audience since it is pre-branded in the minds of people world wide.

Good Points. .TV internationally known. Who would have thought that two letters would be known worldwide. Its all what you make of it. Getting your content Mobile I think the .mobi will be great if they can partner with the cell providers as well as main sites for news and information. But if you want to be entertained its .TV

We can't deny .mobi has had some great sales, but I think they will eventually die out. .Tv has DemandMedia behind it, who will promote it to the max. This is the age of computers, videos, dvd's, and anything else electronic. I think .tv will do great because people watch tv at home, either on a big screen, or the computer. People will not be watching the latest movie, or program with their friends on a cellphone!
Of course, you have to give .mobi credit, many people will be recording videos on cellphones, but where will these wind up?

What I envision happening is that "tv" will become ubiquitous for the viewing of video on whatever size screen. "What are you watching?" says a gentleman to a guy on his cellphone. "I am watching t.v responds the odd gentleman." I mean, TV will become like kleenex, xerox, and fax that become overlapping.
