So much for all those Godaddy God of .TV marketing posts... were some members read so much into it and used it as an op to dis Demand Media / Me.TV's management of the extension.

All I can say is Bob Parsons gave ya a "whose yo daddy" ride where the whole hood can hear ya scream back... 'You are Big Bob, uz my Daddy!', then, you get kicked to da curb. And for $9.99 What else need be said.

i look forward to the two week enom sale of 12.99/9.99......

some people took advantage of the two week sale and poodleman went on the record that he spent $1500 securing names at 9.99 for quite a number of years.......

This is the second time this week I've read the words enom and 'coming sale' in the same sentence... and you list prices. Is this an "email notice"? Where is this info.? Most importantly... WHEN is the sale?

im sorry claude,

i was actually expressing a rather dry observation that a two week sale from enom would be just as wecolme as the go daddy two week sale.....

Does anyone know what Godaddy has to pay per .TV reg? Perhaps he was forced to raise registration prices due to a flood of regs at $12.95 and $9.95?

Now he's got to make it back on renewals? I think dropping .TV it to the back of the list and raising prices to $39.99 spells trouble in Godaddy paradise.

Greg, from what I heard, so hearsay from a Godaddy person, is that Verisign gave a big discount to GD for a short window and so GD passed that to the consumer. Maybe this was a Verisign test of GD abilities, don't know or it could be nothing.

I haven't said they are a god, but I will say that I believe godaddy is a MUCH more solid company then enom.

And let me explain my position on godaddy-----I don't care for them. If I did, I would still be registering everything there, and not using places like moniker and dynadot. That being said, I do NOT like enom. To me, and this is only my opinion, they just seem kind of sleazy to me.

Case in point, depending on which enom site you registered at, the pricing on tv is different. That to me is just kind of showing a huge disrespect for customers. Yes, I do understand that customers should shop around for the best prices, but that is not what the average customer does. So what happens when they reg one for $49.95 and then find out the next day they could have done it for half? They complain, and moan and gripe. All because enom is price gouging the great unwashed that don't know any better. To me that is bad business and not the way to start out a new customer relationship.

So since I am not in a buying mood, I won't be buying from anyone right now. I would much prefer to wait until GD has another sale then give any more money to enom. Would I buy if enom had the same 9.99 sale? I don't know. Probably. Just right now, enom has left a very bad taste in my mouth, and I am a client that shops with my dollars. And I don't want them to have any more of mine.

Enom discounts via web sites. Godaddy via codes. Enom via connections. I don't know about dynadot. Each company, most companys, find ways to give discounts to the 'regulars'... who know "the ropes".

Dynadot give you a discount price once you have spent over $500.

.com $7.95 goes to $6.95
.net $7.95 goes to $5.49
etc.

Well it was nice while it lasted but .TV is back to its usual position... in the "Other Options" catagory, with .ws, below the top row. The sale was nice but I never pegged Bob Parsons as a champion of .TV. Not that he dislikes the extension... me thinks it's has more to do with Verisign's control over the extension and GD's domain catagory layout... with .TV being a ccTLD. Look on the brightside... .TV is at the top of the ccTLD / "Other Options" catagory.

Yeah, Godaddy lost his behind on that last .TV sale and wound up eating some serious cash. I'm sure there were thousands of registrations at the $9.95 and $12.95 price point. Now he's got to charge $39.99 to try and make it back. This price looks ridiculous right next to the other low-priced TLDs so .TV got bumped.

Look's like Bob is going to take a knee and talk about it at half-time. However, eNom has Godaddy's playbook and they're going to "lay it on" in the second half! Did anyone notice eNom's new animated .TV graphic on their home page?

Yep, They have the right to modify their TOS at anytime. It will not be a surprise if they modify their TOS like "Transfers are not allowed within the first two years!" :D

Definitely they have a wired plan behind the 9.99 sale!
