It may not be totally dot tv related but I made the same suggestion to help promote .tv and if I had an extra 100000 in my buget I would trip over my own feet running to get my .tv names on a nascar......

well godaddy is about to plaster its name all over nascar (my speculation), a move I had suggested to Demand Media to promote .tv, can't see a much better way in the States.
If you visit godaddy's site they have a pic of Dale Earnhardt Jr in the place on the chick.... I think they are about to paint up a Godaddy car (not a bad car to paint either) .... now if we can convince them (Bob) to use godaddy.tv as the logo, I think the ball game is over, and I don't believe it would be a hard sell considering godaddy dropped .tv to 9.99 this year to try and build it's .tv user portfolio (I hope you got yours a this price ... I DID! :hehe: )

Bob should do what's best for his business, which may not necessarily be what is best for .tv. I think he makes more off services than he does anything else.

that is how the market works, i admire the man, it boils down to providing a good service at the end of the day (no mater what you are marketing), makes the world go round.....
Sometimes it is worth it to pay a little extra for better service, I personally want the 50$ steak not the 5$ hamburger steak myself.......

I have had better dealings with godaddy than enom/ demand media , thats for sure, not sure about the other 9000 registrars, until I start my own any how :hehe:

Godaddy is by far the best I feel.

Interesting observation tvman. Never even thought about this

As far as pitching other services and best for company I agree somewhat with you

Remember the 9.99 land rush on .tv. They took huge hits off that but gained a lot of customers and in reality it was a wise move. I am sure a portion of them will use additonal services godaddy has

I like their tools, easy to use, website design is easy with webtonight, customer care/service is /has always been good, always good deals if you know how to look for them, and yes the 9.99 .tv thing was great.. I watched the price fall for 2 months a few bucks at a time and the final weekend when it was 9.99 time I felt like a stock broker...BUY BUY BUY lol :hehe: I felt they couldn't go any lower.
A good promo would be 9.99 for first year 60 for the final 2 on a 3 year package, make people feel like they are getting a deal. (69.99 for 3 years)

Only issue I had with GoDaddy was a month ago, some other automatic withdrawals had depleted an account. When an automatic hosting renewal didn't go through because of insufficient funds, I started getting calls from a collection agency - certegy, I hate those guys - regarding a stupid 3.95 bill. They were trying to tack on $25 charge for several different $3.95 transactions, 3.95 + 25,3.95 + 25, 3.95 + 25, etc.

Eventually I got ahold of someone at GD and stated that every time Certegy called me I was moving 20 domains elsewhere, and they backed off. As far as I can tell none of the $25 charges stuck. I still may move a lot of domains elsewhere, that really irritated me.

Moniker and Fabulous I have just had better service with both of them especially fabulous. I use enom.tv for most .tv for the cheaper price. Godaddy drives me crazy with the push and all the pages of offers to go through when I just want the domain.

enom was hitting me with extra year charges and double charges for .tv.

I hit the road. Never been back. Wish I had never used them. Godaddy rules. They call me... sometimes just to see if I am happy. No other registrar ever did that. Moniker is ok.. but a bit of a pain on the transfer. Not very intuitive.

I agree the push is a pain own you need to get the second code to push at Moniker I guess that is to be more on the security side.

I think Parsons great marketing wise I just do not like using for domain buys and pushing the domain

To be totally honest, I am not a Parson's fan (another story), but I do like the overall user-friendliness of Godaddy, and the fact that everyone is familiar with it.
