TutorialFire is an established tutorial site for Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator (but can easily be changed to allow tutorials for other programs). The website is powered by WordPress and uses a custom and unique theme that was paid for. A lot of time was spent tweaking the template and adding plugins to create a system that performs as a tutorial site. The administration is easy and you should find no problems with adding/editing tutorials.
The reason I am selling this site is primarily to be able to concentrate on other/newer projects.
Maintenance:
Keeping the site running and earning money is pretty easy with tutorial sites like this. All that’s needed is a source of tutorials (either paying someone else or making them yourself) which you can upload to the site and then submit to a few tutorial index/directory sites.
I will give the winner a list of good directory sites which you can submit the tutorials to.
Tutorials:
There are currently 24 tutorials on the site. Five of which are unique to the site and the winner of the auction will have full rights to the tutorials passed to them. These five tutorials (posted on the site by the author ‘TutorialFire’) have all been accepted on at least one of these major tutorial index sites: Good-Tutorials, Pixel2Life, Tutorialized.
Site History:
The tutorialfire.com domain was purchased on 15th Feb 2007 and the website was made public at about mid-April 2007. We only really started promoting the site on May 2007 (as you can see in the stats).
Traffic:
On months where new tutorials are added, TutorialFire receives at least 600,000+ hits per month, and 16,000+ unique hits per month. Much of the traffic is from tutorial index sites such as good-tutorials.com, tutorialized.com, pixel2life.com and some others. The partner links also bring in some traffic, for example, from planetrenders.net.
Revenue Details:
The current adverts we’ve implemented are BidVertiser and Google Adsense text ads.
Last month (August 2007) we earned $75 from BidVertiser, while Google Adsense brings in about $10 per month (since we haven’t really optimised the placement of the Adsense text ads).
We have also sold a few text links (can be see on the bottom left of each page) for $10 per month.
Please see attached images for proof of revenue.
What’s included in this auction:
- The domain (tutorialfire.com) will be pushed to your NameCheap account for free.
- The custom made TutorialFire logo will be included in vector format (.ai)
- You will have full rights to all the tutorials posted by the author ‘TutorialFire’. These tutorials are unique and won’t be posted on any other site. (Note: I cannot give ownership to all the other tutorials which aren’t posted by ‘TutorialFire’ as they have been uploaded by friends).
- All the files required for the site will be sent to you by email as a .zip or I will upload the .zip for an HTTP download.
- First month can be hosted for free (on my server which includes cPanel)
