IMO, it’s total time waste and no knowledge gain to read such post when the domain is not disclosed.
Sorry you feel that way Abdul. Just not comfortable revealing the domain name. I'd rather protect the buyer, not too sure if someone would email them and let them know how much I got the name for etc. Maybe that won't happen but not worth it to me.
Thanks for the advice, the only nag being that there are quite a number of registrars now giving GoDaddy a run for their money price wise and with GoDaddy no longer giving out those promo codes like before not many people are looking that way. All the same thanks for the advice lots of sense in it.
True, but Afternic is partnered with several registrars not just Godaddy. But Godaddy is still the registrar with the most traffic in terms of an end user looking for a domain name.
generally
The post was not originally about the name sold but about where to list your name for maximum exposure, though stating the name would also help
Thanks. Yes, exposure is key and in regards to this sale I didn't have to do anything but list it on the platform and eventually it sold.
Well said, Without knowing domain name its become complete time waste reading. Imo
I don't agree, as I believe I shared some type of valuable information in the post. It wasn't only about the afternic sale. I also briefly talked about my basic process for evaluating if I should hold a domain name or not.
Nothing to read here...
Any normal domain can be sold for $498 and at any platform including own page.
But noise like "Turning $25K into $498K"...
Really? Any normal domain can be sold for $498. If that is the case, why are there millions of domains on the drop list everyday from people who couldn't "sell" there domains then?
Sure, selling domain names is very possible but I do not believe for a second that any "normal" domain name can be sold. Normal is subjective. What's normal to me may not be normal to you. It all depends on the type of name, quality, extension etc.
Yes, I agree you can sell on various platforms even your own landing page. My point was too encourage anyone who may not have listed or are lazy to list their names on a site like Afternic too give it a try.
Agree that Afternic is one of the Best domain Marketplaces!
Yes, the transaction was rather smooth and the payment was smooth as well!
Spoiler alert for part 2:
"Turning $25 into $498 - Make Sure To List Your Domains On SEDO and Uniregistry"
Spoiler alert for part 3:
"Why listing your domain name on all the marketplaces will help you sell it"
Any other spoilers we should share?
Yes, Part 4 coming soon...
IMO Afternic s*cks, but I still list domains there. Use all tools at your disposal.
Thanks for the info or lack there of.
Yep, using all tools available to sell your domain is important. Thanks for the kind words.
