Trust with folks/groups...

1) When folks get established and get to know people to network and establish relationships here, do people bond the types of relationships were a small pool of trusted people get together, look at each other's lists of possibilities/ideas for "brain storming" kind of sessions where your ideas and thinking is safe without theft of ideas kind of thing? I know obviously that you are not going to post such stuff online and with just anyone...but I am wondering over time do you gain people into your circles that you can trust like this and trust you just as much? Is this type of thing common?


2) Do people do nondisclosure's when it comes to domain name ideas and sharing type of thing? I am curious if someone had a list with a couple of hundred names on it, and wanted insight or some type of collaboration without the fear of theft; or wanted to sell ideas for domain names without registering them personally to domain name traders such as yourselves, how do you all get around that?

non disclosure, maybe same as "in confidence" or the rule of thumb for a closed group or conversation between individuals.

Thanks Biggie. No longer looking to find out though. Not willing to take the bumps along the way to find out if that is actually true or not. For some reason, I doubt it is. Doesn't seem to be the thing I want to get involved in anymore. Good luck to you though!

well, it's not something you try to jump right into

the kind of relationships, trusts, and understanding of peoples "morals and ethics" as well as reputation, all come into play.

whether someone gets to know you thru posts, knew you offline or made acquaintance thru personal and or mutual transactions, it takes time to build that confidence.


but once you gain it and maintain it, then you and those within, come to cherish it too.

Spend years never lying to another human being about anything (not a single thing at all), keeping every motive, thought, and action in alignment with honesty, truth, and literally "nothing" but good hearted motives and action and you will find out how quickly this world and people in it are full of crap

What a mistake I was to think ever think you could trust folks. Nobody or nothing is honest. That's the only truth there is. Anyone can be bought to do the "wrong" thing for the right price or put enough fear into them. Anyone.

Allegedly Jesus did that for me. Domain trading is a hustle like any other hustle. I am just choosing to not get involved with it anymore after peaking on the inside is all...

Good luck to you...thanks for the advice. This definitely isn't for me though. You could make better consistent money at grinding 24 poker tables at one time versus doing this.

domaining is competitive, and for sure negative things happen because people are involved.
but it's not the nature of the majority.

still, i think pre-purchase really isn't for unregistered names

as you're proposing an acquisition, which can been seen as hesitation on your part, to others.

while you're contemplating, they are "due-diligencing" it.

now if the domain is owned by somebody else and you're considering purchasing, then the chance of it being snatched are lower than if available to register.

same thing with names you're thinking of backordering....

if/when you ask others, it can also be an alert to somebody who didn't know.
now you have another bidder, who may have deeper pockets.
